That's a clean RM, I lost mine due to having to pay for school. It was Shane Bess's arena cross 06 RM250, loved that thing. Trying to recreate it anyway possible on an 05 I just picked up. Would like to hear an update if you have one! Thanks!!

Unfortunately I really have no idea when/if I'll have any updates, so you guys may want to start your own blogs on this topic. Good luck on your projects!

Everytime this thread gets bumped to the top, I get a really strong urge to find an RM250. Awesome stuff.

have some 'rookie' questions if anyone wants to help..
i can see from the photo its a pro circuit 304 is that compatible with a 2001 rm250?
also which handle bars are used and if that is also compatible with a 2001 rm250.. will everything fit and clamp back on?
thanks

If I get any updates I'll post them... Just can't give a date, don't know myself. 718's work has been amazing and so has DJ's. This or my '93 CR250 is my favorite of all the bikes I own or have owned.

Actually, I do have some small updates. I located a place that can pretty much do a straight-up copy of the backgrounds on LeeRoy's bike. They've been paid and I asked for proofs, when I get these later this week, I'll post here.

Also scored a set of Emig triples for the '93 CR250 so the Showa TC conversion can be legit. I've been accumulating a bunch of parts to finish it (280mm circular front rotor, the big brake rear rotor conversion, NOS Renthal Honda team sprocket, etc). Hopefully I'll be able to get to that bike myself later this summer... Actually now that I think of it, maybe that will be my summer project! Now I'm hijacking my own thred...

Wow they look awesome! Maybe you should look into seeing if they could do replica's of the whole kit! I know I would be keen for one!

Here's the guy you should contact-- from the thred on PC Team graphics kits a poster suggested this outfit--

>You guys SERIOUSLY need to get in touch with Dare Decals in the UK. They're the only company i know that can still do the sub surface printing with neon colours, chrome etc etc. Honestly his design detail is second to none on all the vintage/evo stuff. He will reproduce whatever you want to exactly how they were back in the day if you supply him with good enough images.

See for yourself:

They didn't do the backgrounds. I had those done by Dirt Digits here in the USA.

But if you want to have the SoBe graphics kit itself reproduced, I was quoting from the thred on PC kits.

Hello, i'm Andrea Dalla Valle, i'm an italian guy, this is my RM 250 K8

I've seen a lot of nice RM 250 here, with a lot of special parts! I have a factory exhaust system on my bike (pipe + silencer) from Pichon's bike

It's with 718. I do not know its status, perhaps he will have some comments. Sorry, have no idea.

Andrea, did I buy your A Kit rear shock? Your name sounds really familiar. Great bike BTW!

I have had a ton of personal stuff going on so some of the bikes and projects have been delayed. I have also sourced and still sourcing works parts for this bike to make it as trick as possible. I had the Nick Wey bike for over a year and it turned out awesome. You Can't build a city without the right equipment and you can't build a bike with out the right parts.

Thanks!
No i've never sold Showa parts in my life Wink

Can someone tell me what i can do to improve the stability of this bike, please? In short and little tracks, sx style, it's great but in big tracks on hills, with a bumpy ground and where i can go very fast, it doesn't give me much confidence.

(sorry if i make some english mistakes)

RG3 sold triple sets with different offsets which allow you to chose between sharper turning or more stability, depending on the offset selected. Unfortunately, RG3 no longer makes these clamp sets, but they turn up on eBay.

The issues you raise are similar to those that have come up with the with RMZ450 and the RMZ250, too. Have you spoken with some of your friends who own these bikes-- what they have done? I'll bet they have tried clamps with different offsets!

Unfortunately in Italy fast riders use only 4 strokes and no one use RM 250 to racing. You can see an RM 250 only in a training day. I'm racing with that bike but i don't know someone who can tell me what i can do to improve stability.
For example, does the Pro Circuit link works good?
I have a Kite tiple clamp with offset 24mm but it turns too much I don't like it. Stock are 22mm offset

Another question: I like a stiff front fork, like the ones used in 450 4 strokes, I've tried different solutions on OEM fork but it ramain always soft and "free". I feel too much the spring (i use 0.47 springs) and little bit the action of hydraulic. Do you know if i can make the stock fork like the one used on the 450? Obviously not like the new sff because it's completely different

MXA liked it for those year bikes (07-08), if you can find one.

There's a technical section here-- have you considered posting your question there? It sounds like you are needing the advice of a suspension tuner.

Awesome build! i just got a set of rg3 clamps off a 2008 rmz250.. basically free...was searching for a mod to add bump stops... so i can use it on my RM... seems like a tricky thing to do... trying to find a source locally to machine and weld new bump stops... no luck yet...

Once again awesome project! looking forward to completion.

There is two ways of doing this. You can drill and press some stops into the clamp along with welding them. The other option is the drill and tap holes. Use stainless bolts as stops (use a lathe and turn down the extruded portion of bolts). The turned down portion will be used as the stops. Using this method will allow the stops to be removed and able to use the clamps on the original bike they were designed for.

By the way, I am not taking in any other projects. I have to much going on.
Once the current projects are finished I will will restore my own bikes and move on. Had offers high up within the industry and may take that route. Either way, it's too stressful dealing with restorations on a daily basis.

Thanks for the info!! Now thinking of machining some large billet stops and drilling and threading them.. removable and won't weaken the aluminum as much as bad welding can.. i got these clamps almost for free... gonna see if i can do something with them.
