From Geico on Twitter "Unfortunate news about @elitomac. Today he broke his collarbone and will not be racing in Vegas this weekend. Stay tuned for his return"

Yeah, bummed for Eli...but he wasn't exactly doing damage was he? In the interview I heard, seems like he said "I don't know" 100-times. You can tell the bike isn't working for him...but I think Tomac might be a little more of a head case than I thought. He had confidence in the 250 because he had a gazillion laps on it and was big enough to toss it around like a tricycle. In my opinion, he's never looked good on a 450 at all. I don't think it's all the bike either.

Maybe. So if he podiums while things aren't working guess what he'll look like when he figures it out.

that sucks!!!! , was hopping he d have a great outdoor series , they really need a new model honda 450 , the bike is not good , not blaming it ,for him falling , but do think he would have done alot better on a 2012 model honda imo, i always believed that if Reed say a bike sucks it does , the guy know wat he is talking about , still think the bike is more of the problem than tomac s riding is , as far as results ,

Yeah, because Chad never says a bike sucks after he gets off of it.

In fairness thats true , chad has said that alot ,but he has been right a good few times too imo Eli just seem to be not liking the bike at all , from what he has said , Maybe its just a thing of moving to a 450, it s prob a case that some like it and the rest dont , Trey looks great on it , and before the series in bercy he looks sooo good , was such a pity he got inured , barica been giving out , about the bike most of the yr too, maybe the bike isnt the prob , its changing to the big bike , speedy recovery to eli , anyway ,

and PS, hope TREY has a great outdoor season , all he needs is a bit of good luck , cause he has everything else to to win it Smile

I was riding with a guy, today...
He was on a '14 Honda. In-fact, he was ridng 2 different versions: one a stocker-based bike with his personal collection of parts to make it "his way" & a full-on Bad-Ass American Honda team "development" bike. He was Smokin'-Fast on BOTH. He appeared to be faster & more in control of his lines and the bike than some of the current crop of national pros that were there...yes, the AHM bike was faster...especially up the hills.

Here's the thing, after watching him do this on this bike on SEVERAL occasions:

It ain't the bike.

It's a matter of getting it set-up & that is, more often than not, on the rider & his crew. Oh, and, I'm pretty sure Trey has it figured out.

So, it ain't the bike.

Trey definitely has it figured out. Like I said...Trey never blames the tool. He goes out & makes the best he can make with what he is given.

Whoever invents an effective chassis dyno for MX (cough*JGR*cough) will rule the outdoors.

Did you watch the race last weekend? Eli looked great and rode away from everyone but RV.

Sucks if he's out.

I don't know.

Maybe I should use the term 'simulator' instead of 'dyno'.

Oh come on everybody, he's had some bad luck lately. It's not the bike or him being a head case, it's just bad luck. Everyone goes through it. Eli is no different. He's young and will bounce back .

All that matters is what tomac thinks about the scooter. ..not what we think.

This is just my observational opinion...

At the NY SX, Tomac's bike, although he got second, was kicking and jumping in places where other bikes were glass smooth, notably the rear end. i'm not saying it's bad or good, im just saying that the guy in front of him and the guy behind him weren't kicking the rear end all over the place in the very same places he was.

The Honda doesn't turn well for the top level, so to combat this, Tomac is using a 15mm shorter 2008 swing arm. I think the problem is, that this "band-aid" to get the bike to turn, has thrown the rear end off. Maybe.

another thing... no one on the track hits ruts as well as Eli. Dude doesnt even ride the bottom of the rut, he gets up on the side of it and its just amazing to see.

Who else is seeing the potential for Christian Craig to be on a Geico 450 sooner than Red Bud......just sayin' (he has already stated he is racing Red Bud as kind of a "one off" race)...................

This really does suck. Losing the top two young prospects (AC being the other), one in each class, even before the season starts....shit. And, was really hoping to see Eli here on his home track, too. Anyone have a timetable for his return? Wait...scratch that request. Asking for future info here is about as dependable as praying.

Would it surprise you to know the 2012 and 2013 have the same frame geometry? Different layout, same geometry.

Reed was admittedly out of shape in '13, and blamed the only thing that couldn't talk back.
