But. Bogle has more than a race lead over anyone who will race next week. Why didn't they give him the trophy already??

It's just more logical and professional for the AMA to award Bogle the championship when it's locked up, rather than him "technically" having it locked up. It doesn't matter the extent of Davalos injuries because if they awarded Bogle the title and he gets hurt this week and they shoot Davalos up with novocaine and he takes 4th, well that would be a crazy pain in the ass dramatic #1 plate swap and all that. Plus it's Vegas, the promotors want to wrap up the titles at that venue not NJ. Btw Vegas isn't double points, guys.

They can work around it, Jeremy McGrath has done it.

Without disrespecting the field, it's weak compared to the beginning of the season. If something were to happen to Bogle this week, Davalos physically could ride through the pain and finish 4th or better. The only guys quicker than him at the moment if Bogle were to get hurt is Jeremy Martin, and while being injured he could still probably beat Lemoine and Cunningham.

I'm curious why you care so much, and why you are so upset over waiting til Vegas to award him the championship?
