"But even as RV was winning and closing in on that milestone title, I’m hearing and seeing that he may not be 100 percent, and he has a knee situation that may need correction as soon as the series-ending Las Vegas Supercross happens. Needless to say, I really, truly hope that’s not the case."
He already owes half of his championship bonuses to RV's surgeons anyway.
(Though in all reality they could be using both the e-start and the kick starter...but I'm not sure...I know for a fact they use the kick starter though. )
Pit Row
His knee could be hurting but he could still get through the outdoor season if he had to, like Stewart did last year, but Ryan REALLY needs a break from training 8 days a week and all the travel.
He has one more contract year and wants to go out next year with both titles, but he needs rest and time away from dirt bikes.
No one will question him on his knee (besides Vitards) , he is the only one who knows how bad it hurts. He doesn't need the money or the extra title, because he also knows he has to work extra hard on this one because Stewart has found his reason for being again.
I know, crazy shit right????
if a rider (RV) injures himself, during a race or preparing to race someone. and isn't able to complete or compete in a series, didn't he lose to the other rider (Dungey), due solely to his own miscalculations, misjudgments and errors?
if a rider (Dungey) is able to show up and make the gates, and win the races/championships that the other rider (RV) missed due to his own mistakes, how did he not beat that rider?
RV would certainly have wanted to beat Dungey in the championships that Dungey has won, and in RV's head in all the preparations Dungey was the chief concern, the very reason he was pushing to be better. If RV isn't able to compete, Dungey is the reason.
The backward mind places things the other way 'round.
(Sorry for the tangent.)
Trains in the winter. Kills it in 2015.
Then does Supercross only for 2016.
No way that guy retires in 2015 if he wins the championship. No way. To much money will be thrown at him. No matter how much you have in the bank you want more.
You guys will say well RC did. Shit RC got spooked. With JS7 rollin to town RC saw what it was gonna take and choose the freaking Dairy Queen. Can't say I blame him, I choose that route too. Long before him!
Villo ain't scared. And there ain't nobody coming down the pipe in the next couple years to scare him like JS7's speed did to RC.
Going 17 rounds of SX then right into the grueling outdoors, followed up by MXDN, then the Monster Cup, 2 weeks off then time to test would kill anyone after all these years. But just doing SX, hell that'd be like vacation to these guys.
Career extender boys, ask KW, MC, etc.
No way he wins 5 titles in a row and don't go for 6. Now if he has a crappy year next year..... Well it was good while it lasted!
THink about it this way shaving 10 mins off of 4 motos could easily shorten the TV program from 4 hours to 3 hours which is a much easier sell to networks that may consider buying it and could attract a lot more sponsors, so not everyone is screaming bloddy murder when JUST the 1st or 2nd motos are live and we have to wait 6 hours to watch on come obsure channel nobody gets. Also (and I know im going to get burned at the stake for saying this) but I do believe the racing would be a little better if the moto's were slightly shorter because just about every rider would be able to "sprint" in a sense for the entire moto, not save energy and be spent before the moto is over thus cruising around with RV JS CR or RD aka the top 4 having a minute lead over 4th or 5th place, not every rider can afford an Aldon or any trainer to make them last like a champ at the 35 min mark ESPECIALLY when its 100 plus degrees outside, given how fast and heavy a 450 is, that makes things a little unecessairly dangerous for riders that may have a heat stroke or possibility of having one. The outdoors needs some slight tweaking to modernize it a little and put it in front of the masses. Then it can gain better sponsors, TV and $$$ for the riders.
I know were all about tradition but there are some good reasons for shortening the motos a LITTLE if it means better tv, $$$, better aka closer racing and safety for the riders. Regardless of shorter motos giving other riders that dont train under an Aldon program a slight advantage to finish the race riding at 100% vs cruising Im all for it. The best will still win but I do believe it would be a good thing...as for the "purists" im going to go in my place and deadbolt my door and hide from the fallout of merely suggesting shorter motos may be a good thing, within 5 mins of this post there will be an angry mob with pitchforks and torches at my door and that scares me! haha
But seriously it would probably help[ more than it would hurt the outdoors if the did shorten the motos, im sure not many will understand my logic and thats ok................oh and BY THE WAY the "RUMOUR" abou the outdoors si that RV's knee is messed up and he may sit it out to get surgery, so there you have it nobody is going to shorten motos and ruin the sport. RV (per racerhead) might be sitting out the nationals to have surgery on his knee.
