Specifically Teresa Caputo from the long island medium? If you have ever watched this show it's pretty crazy how she knows what she does. Sure, it's a TV show but still all they are doing is following her around. It's not necessarily scripted but just edited.

That being said I still have skepticism but that doesn't mean it's not true. If it is true then she validates that there is life after death.

What you guys think? I would also like to know if anybody here has any experiences that led them to believe that there is definitely life after death?

My wife has a "spiritual advisor" and I've never really known what to think about it, just listened to what she tells me about her visits. One day in late 2010 she came home and told me that a friend of mine was really worried about me, according to her advisor. My friend was worried enough, apparently, that he thought I was going to off myself, and I WAS going through a pretty rough stretch. He thought that I needed to get away from the stupidity of living down in the mayhem of here, and go back out west.
I thought, "How the hell am I going to accomplish THAT?" I'm in a relationship here, and I can't leave my parents, since I'm the only child still local. She then went on to tell me that her advisor described this guy to a "T", how he looked, how he dressed, rode a Harley, on and on. Strangely, she has never even SEEN this guy, let alone met him, so the fact she knew all this was astounding The girl has never met ME either, just going off what she sensed from my wife. Said that I really needed to get away, and reconnect with the wilderness and some inner peace. I wasn't super tight with this guy, but he was definitely someone whose friendship I really valued, he just came along at a time when I was recovering from alcohol abuse, and we met because of moto. Just a stand up guy who'd give you the shirt off his back. I actually flew him out to Calgary in April 2002, to drive my van back to southern Ontario, and he could stop and see his Grandmother in Sioux Lookout in the north part of the province for as long as he wanted. I was in no hurry to get my stuff once I got there, it was just my CR500 riding gear, tools and a bunch of non essential items. He didn't want to hang out even for the night, he ran on adrenalin, always going, always doing something, I couldn't even talk him into letting me rent him a room for the night to sleep. Said he wouldn't sleep anyway, might as well get in the van and head east. Bought him supper, gave him a bunch of money for gas and eats on the trip, and he put 'er into the wind. As it turns out, when he left Calgary that night about 3 hours after he landed, it would be the last time I'd ever see him. He was killed on his Harley south of Sudbury Ontario in July, 1 month before my wedding, hit a moose after a heavy summer rainstorm around 2am. Never even saw the damn thing in the heavy mist. The both of us had bad schedules and never hooked up in the following 4 months, once I got home. My fiancé picked up my van at his house during the week, because he was an instructor at a safe street riding course on weekends.
Do I believe in people that are gifted in that way? I damn sure do now.

I don't understand your timeline, He left in your Van and got to where He was going ? How long after that was it until the accident ? and I assume the message was after he passed ?

Sorry Jay, maybe it's misworded. I got the message from Karen that her advisor gave her in late 2010. My boy picked up my van in early April 2002, drove it home for me, stopping to see his Grandmother on the way, probably home in a week or so. He was killed in late July 02, 8 years before I got the info from Karen. I didn't meet her until 07. The whole thing just blows my mind, and I'm working out west to boot. I didn't even find out about the oil hauling gig until mid 11. Crazy.

No.

If there was anything to this it would be testable / replicable.

Skeptics Issue $1 Million Psychic Challenge

The JREF's Million Dollar Challenge Director, a mentalist performer named Banachek, said, "We're issuing a challenge: If one of you can demonstrate your 'psychic' abilities on randomly chosen strangers — not celebrities — under mutually-agreed conditions, without relying on known cold-reading techniques such as fishing around with vague questions, and without just using Google — we will donate our million dollars to you or to the charity of your choice."

I know we all have abilities beyond our 5 senses. Call it what you will though intuition seems to denote it most accurately.

So so true. There is obviously a scientific reason behind intuition but it's there nonetheless.

Crazy story, Scooter. Had to be a trip, for sure.

You are the first person I've ever heard mention Souix Lookout. We spent a couple of summers canoing around the lakes up there.
We were like celebs. Evidently they didn't see too many Texans. :-)

I wouldn't say I am psychic but often my intuition (or gut feelings) are too accurate to be attributed to coincidence. It is not the sort of thing I can will to happen but It just happens at times and for me it seems to happen much more often than the average person. Most of the time it occurs when my emotional state is elevated.

Below is my Super Bowl prediction. http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Non-Moto,21/Super-Bowl-XLVIII,1265092?pag… The score ended up being 43 to 8. I was off by four points but the total points I had was exact (my gut got a little confused by the safety and two point conversion). Though I was slightly off, I was certain it was going to be a complete blow out for the Hawks. It wasn't something I believed, it was something I knew, and that is how it works for me. I get in tune with the rhythms of the Universe. Though, my gut tells me the Long Island Medium TV show is B.S.

My wife was very close to someone during her earlier years, she called him "Gramps" closest thing to a grand father she had.
One night she wakes up in the middle of the night says she had this dream that Gramps had come to visit and say "goodbye".
She hadn't seen Gramps in about 6 months so it was totally random. She was so shaken she could not sleep the rest of the night. As most people we have/had an alarm clock next to the bed and knew what time it was when she woke up. The next morning we received a call from Gramp's son that Gramps had passed that night, the time of death was within minutes of when my wife woke me up to tell me about her dream.
Do I believe in psychics? Not so much. Do I believe in psychic events? Absolutely

To answer the OP, yes I do. There are known things linked to it (edit: or rather possibly linked to it) through quantum mechanics which science is just getting into now.

Yes but I'm sure there's quacks mixed in with the real deal.

Personally I don't have experience with psychics per se but did have a couple of past life regression sessions thirty years ago that were pretty powerful. Also had my Chinese astrological chart done in 1986 and I recorded the reading of my chart per Dr. Wu's suggestion. Was too busy to really absorb it as I was in the middle of moving to CA but a year later when I listened to it I was amazed at how much what my chart showed in my future actually came to pass.

You people are sad...really sad.

James Randi has been destroying all paranormal claims for a long time but he's not the first and won't be the last. The reason being that the methodology behind this bullshit is all the same. There hasn't been anything new in this area for thousands of years. Cold reading, magic tricks, lies, ruses, and straight up guesses account for all psychic phenomenon.

Guessing the super bowl score close (but still incorrectly) is harmless enough, but the for profit ones are extremely damaging. They sell people lies about loved ones that have gone missing, advising life decisions, and generally just fuck with people to make a buck.

If you search through youtube for James Randi, there is some great stuff. It's great to watch these people squirm when Randi exposes them.

I don't really believe it is something that you can make happen, it just happens, for example the home run prediction I posted above. Though I suppose it makes some sense not to believe it If you have never experienced something like, however many have, so they do.

Perhaps you didn't experience anything. Perhaps you're just trying to justify your own belief system by attributing a lucky guess to something paranormal. If you get it wrong, you ignore it...but if you even get close (after all your guess was wrong,) you try to claim that you experienced something unworldly. It's hilarious to anyone willing to be intellectually honest enough to look at things objectively.

That wasn't the only time, it wasn't a lucky guess and that sort thing is rarely precise. It is more of an overall feel for how things are or will be, it is tapping in to the rhythms of the universe. It is intuition not prophecy. What about the home run prediction? Go back and read that thread and ask yourself if I thought I was making a lucky guess.

i once had to take a piss so bad i barely made it to the toilet, i felt my bladder let go as i was unzipping and once i was finished (a good minute of power streaming later) not a single drop made it into my underwear or my shoes 100% on target.

If that isnt proof a higher being then i dont know what is
