Our bike is trashed; he is sore and banged up. He drove the 13 hour drive home from Buffalo NY yesterday and got home at 11:45 last night. He was in my office this morning at 7AM to go to work all day Land Surveying in the field today to earn a living.

These guys are the unsung heroes of our sport. The ones that keep trying knowing that there is no ride or support for them to earn. They are doing this out of sheer will and desire to race against the best competition in the world. They literally sell their souls to do this. He ran good all day and we qualified 26th. I felt he should have made the main saturday night if this had not happened. This year he is the only Suzuki 250F mounted rider to make a main event on the east coast. At many races we were the only suzuki in the night show.

If anyone ever asks why there should be 22 riders in a main event on here again; respond to them that the unsung heroes deserve those gates. There have been a few working class heroes in both classes this year that this change has helped.

For now St. Louis is a no go for us. Our workload is swamped here at home; the parts to make the bike race ready and get Austons body back while working a job this week just don't add up to the petty reward. I feel like he made his point when he made his first main event at Daytona.

Look for Auston at the Muddy Creek and Red Bud Nationals on a YZ250 two stroke this summer. If you can't make a living racing professionally you might as well have fun doing it right?

He did not race the LCQ as they stated on the tv broadcast. With the new format and lack of RMZ250's within the pits I did not have time to get the bike prepared. I do not think he would have been in shape to ride it either. The sheer mental fatigue of the wreck and him spooked pretty good.

P.S. GuyB we sure could use that privateer spotlight we talked about on the homepage!

However, I completely understand racing because you love it is great but lets face it, it will only take you so far. I commend Auston and you for working all week and racing on the weekends. Most people do not realize how hard this path actually is. I am glad he is alright, but am disappointed he wont be at the rest of the sx rounds because we need more riders like Auston in the field. Keep your chin up because there is a lot more of us (struggling Privateers) than them (RV, JS, CR, RD, etc...) Someday someone might actually realize this, hell look at what Lemoine did this weekend, super pumped for him.
