You race or just grow fat on a couch? If I have a wheel on you in the turn and you come in hot and try to take the line away I would do just what Alessi did. I would also hope your front wheel would be destroyed. Wilson has nothing to loss racing in the 450f class and he can be aggressive with no thoughts of collecting points. It's a take out attempt by Wilson and that is part of racing. Should 250f West Coast riders be concerned with sending 450f riders to the ground? No rules were broken but at the same time I don't want Wilson to cry if a 250f lapper aggressively takes him out.
... poor grammar is the quickest way to discredit any argument.

Don't be so harsh GuyB. Saying Alessi got lapped is such a frequent occurrence that it just kind of rolls off the tongue. You know, kinda like how Mike rolls off the throttle before a whoop section...

Coon44 - none of those were dirty moves. This is coming from someone who isn't exactly Alessi's biggest fan.

Some insight into what happens on the track and off the track at the races that people aren't aware of. This is a video of Dean Wilson and Mike Alessi that was taken during the end of last night's main event that didn't get televised. It's a very similar intentional/unintentional t-bone of those we've seen lately.

The video and complaint were presented to AMA immediately following the race and the powers that be at AMA refused to give consideration to the incident in terms of negligence. Is it right for such similar situations that have recently occurred (Alessi/Tickle, Stewart/Barcia) and many more in the past, be handled so differently? It is our belief a fair and objective perspective from fans, teams and AMA is critical to the growth if this sport.

I see it as a racing incident, if you notice in the video at the :04 secong mark Alessi looks right at Wilson as he's coming up the inside and instead of checking up or staying higher on the berm he gases it into Wilson's wheel. The outcome could have been avoided.

I've raced my whole life. You would have done the same thing? How well did that work out for Alessi? Looks to me like he crashed. Im not saying either rider is at fault, Im just saying that Alessi could have avoided the collision and kept his position by running the berm a little higher. Alessi has been riding good lately, I would just like to see him ride a little smarter.

This thread is five pages long, and MCRacing has posted twice. That was a pretty epic cast with some great bait attached...

Hahahaha not even close to what Alessi did to Tickle! All the riders hugged the inside there all day, Wilson may have gone a bit too far and pushed them both out but it was not close to a t-bone slam ala Alessi.

This is one of the funniest videos ever!

Wilson's move was not even in the same ball park as Mike's BLATANT t-bone of Broc Tickle. Like others have already said, this is childish from MCR. Who's in charge there? Who actually decided it would be smart to post this video to vital and compare it to Mike's t-bone of Tickle? Who decided to "present this as evidence to the AMA in protest"?

I think Alessi rode a great line thru the corner. A split second was the difference and only Wilson would have paid the price for the attempted block pass. So what if Alessi looked at Deano as he accelerated out of the turn. Wilson wants a solid 450f ride in the future, why not race 450f riders hard with no points championship on the line. On the other hand, Alessi doesn't have to give up his line and if the West Coast 250f title contender wants to risk crashing and injuring himself then that's the price you may have to pay for attempting to block pass a seasoned 450f rider. Did it work out for Alessi? Yes, Wilson got the message.

Possibly because Alessi didn't drive his handlebar through Tickle.

Wild guess...

Yeah... this is NOTHING like what Alessie did to Tickle! This is an aggressive block pass and Wilson made it clean! Alessie had the choice to avoid the block but he chose to ride right into Wilson. Glad the AMA saw the complaint as just another loser move by the Alessi children!
