Did anyone else catch Reed's comment on the Pulp show last night regarding Tomac's bike? In typical Reed fashion, he was speaking his mind about his lack of love for stock motorcycles and how they come set-up from the factory (I love it that he holds nothing back in interviews). He mentioned that Tomac is actually running a swingarm off a 2008 CRF 450 which is 15mm shorter than the '14's....thought that was pretty interesting. I love hearing little tid bits like this that nobody ever knows....it's kind of like some inside info haha.

I did hear that and was pretty shocked to be honest. Reed is always a good interview. I wonder if anyone will ask eli about it in a future interview now?

It was pretty funny to hear.
I think most of the riders act like "we just ride the bikes" and pretend they know nothing about the particulars.

So Reed is accusing Tomac of cheating?

The swingarm has to be from the original homologated motorcycle and homologation only lasts for 5 years......

That is good stuff. Reed also talked before his own Kawasaki that they can run different parts than Factory wich could work better. Maybe he could run also swingarm or other parts from older model.

No one did notice that RV2 went back to normal rear shock after couple first rounds and got his Kawa dialed again.

It may be the same length as the 2008 but its ain't the 2008 model.

The 2008 used the old box style swingarm like suzuki's. While the 2014 uses the hydro form like new yamaha's.

There is a huge visual difference.

Geico Honda swingarms looks different than ones you see production 2014 and Factory Honda.
Upper row Geico and lower production + Factory Tomac from earlier this year.

Being a ex owner of a 2009 Crf450 they Deffintley need to change some stuff and I think what chad said was bang on.

The 08 was a great bike.
