He should have punished worse for that move. As far as T-bones, it was beautifully executed I have to say.

How did he not break Tickle's leg?

I hope the rumors aren't true and Mike doesn't come race Canadian nationals this year. We don't want him here! What a bonehead!

He actually missed his leg. Just barely grazed it. I'll tell ya what though.....if Mike would of been about another 6" ahead of where he was.....we would of lost Broc for the rest of the SX season due to a broken leg.

I didn't read through this entire thread.....but if you watch it over a few times ( even in slow motion )....Mike actually keeps the throttle pinned and DUMPS the clutch about 2' before impact!

I'm Trying to support Mike this year.....but that was a shit head move if I've ever seen one!

Unreal! Grabs the clutch, aims for the middle/back of tickles bike, then dumps the clutch to hit him. #Scumbag

Why can't this guy, with all his checkered past and questionable history, just be a normal human being for once. I've tried really hard over the years to like and support team Alessi, but i seriously just can't do it.
I don't understand why some of you can't just admit that your real motivation isn't the move itself but your dislike for Mike Alessi. I've seen much worse moves get much less attention. Hell, I just read this bit from Broc Glover about racing Danny Magoo Chandler:

“So I was leading the series by a good point margin and the only way Honda’s Danny “Magoo” Chandler was going to win was to have me DNF,” Glover tells us today. “At Lakewood, the Honda bike is running so much better than my bike and we were all going pretty well. Chandler was screwing with me in the first moto, he chopped me off in the air, cut over on me and in the next corner he tried brake-checking me. I finally made a clean pass and won the moto.”

“The next moto, same story, I come up on him while he got the holeshot. The whole 40 minutes of the race, he was trying to sucker me into crashing or hurting myself and I wasn’t going to do that. We came up over a hill, then came out of a gully and made a sharp 90-degree turn over this hump. I came to the top of the thing and he would stop in the rut and wait for me to run into him. This was lap after lap. So I just cleaned him out on the last lap, just ghost rode my bike into him and we both ended up falling down this hill, our bikes and everything. It was really steep! We ran down there and everything was tangled up. By the time we got going, some 30-seconds or so, Goat Breker came around the turn and won the moto. He went 3-1, I went 1-3 and Magoo went 2-2. That was what I remember from that year.”

These warriors of motocross past are glorified for actions that Alessi is being crucified over. Magoo wanted to take Glover out by DNF or by getting Glover to crash and hurt himself. There's no doubt that Chandler was a warrior and had the heart of a champion, but come on. The hate in these Alessi threads is too much. I'm no Alessi fan myself and I'm not defending his actions, but I think some of the motivations are transparent in these types of threads.

Nope,, just calling out a delusional rider . How about this one, Mikes take on A3 when his hand slipped off the bar and he went over the berm almost taking out JS7. Although Genovas daughter was easy on the eyes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMqLsu233FA

1. That was for winning a championship, this was for 4th place in a heat.
2. Tickle passed Alessi as clean as it gets and then Alessi T-bones him with no intent except to put Tickle on the ground HARD.
3. The Alessi family has a long history of pulling bullshit bonehead moves and they have no respect for the other riders.
4. Alessi is a second rate rider who knows his only chance to win or even get 4th in a heat is block and take people out.
5. I'm a Dungey fan but if I saw him pull shit like that I'd be PISSED. There is no excuse for that kind of riding.

So it's OK to try and take a rider out and injure them if it's for a long-shot title? Whistling Whistling Whistling

But honestly, after Jeff's latest post calling RC a cheater, I can't defend the Alessi's, so I'm going to drop it.

C'mon man, I have faith that you're more intelligent than you're letting on. The SPORT has evolved. This isn't the 70's where dudes showed up in a pick up trucks and box van and "banged" bars for chump change smoking Marlboro's with their shirts off.

Did you watch the video? That's the only motivation you need to come to the conclusion it wasn't a PASS attempt.

I understand that aspect of it, but the underlying principle is the same: A rider's safety.

I agree it wasn't a pass attempt. I'm not defending Alessi's actions, I'm just saying that the reactions have more to do with the particular rider than with the actual t-bone.

If this was an isolated incident it wouldn't nearly be this bad, but Mike and his family have done this to themselves. This family is a dedicated motocross family, but there are some things they do to get wins that normal people with a conscience wouldn't think twice about doing. They are always stirring up some sort of controversy. It just gets harder and harder to pull for this guy after some of the stunts they pull.

Wow.. what a ridiculous takeout. Alessi should get a 2 year ban from the sport to think about what the f*ck he's doing.

Whatever. He got frustrated and gassed it. Dumb move but he rode pretty good all night. Led for 5 laps and regrouped after fading bad in laps 5-10 or so. You?
2/23/2014 1:41am
You can't go round doing that. I don't really support it in any scenario but certainly not a heat race and with no apparent provocation.

Right when Tickle passed him, I was yelling at the tv for him to move over and get on the brakes. I know how Alessi is, but that even surprised me. Dumped the clutch and cleaned him out. Straight t-bone. You won't see a dirtier move than that. Honestly, on the last lap for the final transfer position, anything besides cross jumping and a t-bone is fair game. Even by those standards, Alessi crossed the line. What a piece of shit. That whole family honestly. Just a bunch of low life people is all they are.
