Why not make a piece that attaches some way to ones existing stand.

Make it a 10 or 20 buck piece,I'm way more easy to get for a 10 than a 60 dollar bill.

Then,in a year stand makers will incorporate the added fixture into their design and put you in a smaller market.

So,maybe expand what you are making into a full stand with LOS on it.

The fold up tripod would be cool in a stand,or 4 legs, but fold up.

Just sayin I'd rather have a new rear and a 10 dollar LOS that slips in the top of my old stand.

I'm definitely gonna be ordering one from motosport! That sure beats putting a glove over the grip to keep from tearing it. 

I dont get all the people that are saying it tears up your grips to use a regular stand for this. Hasnt anyone ever put the corner of the stand under the fork tube inbetween the triple clamps? thats what i have been doing for the last ten years....

I know I might sound like a broken record with "I have already thought of that" but honestly, that was thought of as well. There was A LONG time spent on creating multiple different 3-D computer models which included many different ways to achieve the intended use.

Pretty much, this idea of connecting it or having it associated with a regular stand was passed on because I did not like the idea of lifting the entire stand (big, bulky, etc.) up to the handlebar…..I wanted the stand to "go down" with the bike while it was being lowered. That is one of the major complaints (with myself and speaking with others) is having to "guide" the bike down onto a regular stand…having to make sure that stand is situated/placed exactly perfect before ever lowering the bike down onto it…not fun trying to hold the bike with 1 hand and then having to adjust the placement of the stand with the other hand with hopes of not knocking the stand over while adjusting. This is what led to the final design of having the stand be associated WITH THE BIKE while the bike is being laid over….so that you just lay the bike over wherever and the stand is obviously always situated perfectly.

Sorry to ramble on, just trying to give a decent explanation.

Again, thanks to all who have given positive feedback and experience on the stand…I REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT!!!

when i saw this , i just thought that it was something for the sake of it... whats wrong with using the stand sat in the background , but then i spent an hour cleaning my bikes , and did the whole ' guess where to put the stand' thing .. and reading this , it suddenly hits the spot....

Im thinking this would be cool to stick your boots over , so you can wash them off upside down too.

Any plans to hit the UK with these.?

MOTO120, do you do any side work in 3D modeling? If I understand it right, i can send a 3D file to a vendor and get it 3D printed in different materials?

You definitely "paired" with a great company. I still have stands from Motorsport Products that are almost 10 years old and have held up great ( I think we all have found out how long a cheap stand will last). Brian Fry at Motorsport products is a first class guy and a true motohead himself.
You are correct....I have been nothing but impressed with Motorsport Products as a company and Brian as an individual! That's really cool to hear you have stands from 10 years ago that are still as good as they were new.....and I know this Lay Over Stand is of the same quality.

Thanks!

The amount of times I wished there was something like this available... If I had a bike to lay over, I'd be all over this.

About ruined a aluminum fuel tank on one of our vintage bikes while trying to wash the underside. Had it leaning against a column at the house and it slippedWoohoo . Fortunately only ripped the wires to the kill switch.
Newman i hope you learnt from your mistake and had the column removed

I got mine last night (ordered it from RockyMountainMC). Only have one complaint. The pivot bolt at the top is too short so it doesn't reach the ny-lock portion of the nut. I'll probably pick up a longer bolt to remedy that.

Other than that, great product.

Sorry to bring up an old post (especially amongst all the "very informative" RV2, JS7, and JH84 talk) but wanted to share this pic. Factory KTM Canada is now using the Lay Over Stand and they've had nothing but positive things to say about it....and it's really helped sales #'s in Canada Smile Just thought the pic was cool, having a "factory bike" using the stand.

He's proud of it - as he should be. What's your contribution been to moto, asshat?

Ordering one of these bad boys today.
I'm honestly surprised you can retail these as low as you do.
