I put this in the "race shop" section but don;t know how frequented that is.

an electric stand?

I have a camera bike company, where we put camera's on my specific built motorcycle and film feature films, television shows and commercials. Problem I am having is when everything is affixed to the bike, I can't use a kickstand or lift it on a center stand (too heavy) Now I am using a scissor stand that I have to use a ratchet and socket to raise, bending over and doing this is a pain.

I need an electric center stand, I can ride up, slide it under and secure the bike.

Any ideas?

(yes, I have google searched and looked all over the net)

Weld the socket to the output shaft of an electric motor. You could wire in a paddle switch that you could operate with your foot.

since you have the stand, why not just get one of these?

I am sure you have already thought of a hydraulic one. Not sure how much your bike weighs if this type would work or not, but might be worth a try.

Cordless impact driver, you could move the trigger to a board to make it foot operated.
Edit, day late and a dollar short.

I have to look into this.

Seriously, I have searched but never found this. I think this would do it, I think.

that is what I did, but on set it is LOUD. kind of obnoxiously loud when I raise and lower. I get a few crazy looks every time people are standing around and I raise/lower the bike.

The only thing with this, Pardon my expression.... Is "getting it up" hahahahahahahah. With the bike having cameras and full loaded if I will be able to "get it up" by using my foot.

I need to possibly take this and put an electric actuator where the shock absorber is, give it power and make a switch that will allow me to lift, and lower

I'm still going to order one and try it.

How about that one you ride onto and it lifts the bike? Can't think of the name?

You would need some kind of gearing system to work that kind of thing from an electric drill. We lower the bottoms off circuit breakers at work using a ratchet or a specially designed bar that comes with them, we do some times use cordless impact guns or air impact guns and it doesn't do them any good, they don't get the same leverage as with a bar

This wouldn't help you in any way. This requires the same effort to lift the thing up in the first place if not more (going against the hydraulics on the way up). All this does is go down slowly with the weight of the bike instead of dropping at 100mph like a usual one.

That's the one I was thinking of when I saw this post. I think JGR was using those a couple years ago- not sure if they still are.

I have 4 of those, The best stand IMO but only slows the bike falling down so fast, No assistance upwards

i've put plenty of fully loaded Gold Wings on their center stands. are you suggesting that this bike weighs more than that, which can easily surpass 1000 lbs?

Maybe I'm way off here, but I can't imagine that bike (which started life as a sub-400 lb Zero RS) weighs more than 600-700 lbs when loaded with all your camera gear and the mounts.

it looks like the person who fabbed the mounts should be able to fab you up a motorized center stand no problem, that looks like some really quality workmanship. there is nothing more simple and pragmatic than a center stand.

edit: I meant a center stand that is permanently attached to the bike, like any typical center stand. the only reason I suggest motorized assistance is just because it looks like the "outrigger" might be in the way for a manual center stand.

I understand completely that the weight with a properly attached center stand may not be an issue lifting the bike.

I am trying to keep as much weight OFF the bike as possible. When it is fully loaded with camera equipment and the rig we have put on, I am losing some manuverability with the bike. Splitting traffic on a 400 lb bike or going head on with a car with an additional 250 lbs of equipment can get quite hairy at moments. Smile

I fully understand your points and they are correct. Just trying to not attach anything else onto the bike that ads weight or could potentially put me in a bad spot. (falling0 dragging, etc)

I will be hitting up N-style and the "power lift" looks to be exactly the remedy.
