Probably the top Japanese brass who were pissed RD and RD decided to leave. I blame decoster, he SOLD OUT when he probably didnt have to. Probably has to do with the fact he is european as is ktm... RDy would probably be better off now if both him and RD had stayed at Suzuki and kept the best crew. But I dunno. I guess suzuki is to blame for not coming up with enough money but that doesnt really make sense that suzuki would all of a sudden be having money problems. i bet roger was getting paid fine but he got a lil greedy when red bull ktm empire offered him big bucks and his own tinker shop.

Overall the rds have worked fine at KTM but im sure they are a notch back from where they were at suzuki on top of their game. plus a yellow bike just plain looks better. get rid of that damn orange. ktm would be better white. Vanilla just like Dungey.
For Roger's entire career as a team manager in the U.S. (at Honda and at Suzuki) he always signed multi-year deals. In 2010 when he went to renew his contract, Suzuki was only willing to offer him a one year deal and that's just not the way Roger operates. KTM offered him a multi-year deal and a blank check to build the team up and Roger took it because that would let him rebuilt a truly powerhouse team, and if you want to claim that RedBull KTM is not a powerhouse team, I question where you have been for the past two years.

The real thing I don't understand on Vital is the KTM bashing. Yes, quite some time back, KTM's bikes were not as good as the Jap bikes. My 03 KTM 250 was terrifying to ride. But in the last few years, they have become some of the best bikes on the track, without a doubt. Yeah, sometimes Dungey's bike doesn't look like it's working well for him, but other times it looks great. Think the beginning of last year, it took several races for RV to look like his bike was working at all for him, but no one freaked out about that. Roczen's bike looks like it fits him like a glove, Anderson has been adamant about how happy he is on his bike. Short's turned in a sneaky good two races on his, there's really not a decent case to be made for KTMs not being at least as good as any other bike on the track, and yet there are constantly posts alleging that Roczen, or Millsaps, or Dungey, etc. are trying to get out of their contracts because they hate the bike. I just don't get it. Is prejudice against KTM really just that embedded in the pysche of Vital's membership?

I predict that sometime this season or next all the talk of Dungey being a bit soft will reach a tipping point with his pride/ego and he'll finally ride angry.

Ever since the Motocross of Nations, with results 6-7
Riders like, Roczen, Searle, Ferris, Paulin, Dycker, Nagl, Bobryshev
Riders that he has beat in the pass, and riders he should of beat
(The only rider that I'll give a pass to is Antonio Cairroli, he was on a
mission)
After just letting Ryan Villopoto pass at the Phoenix, Dungey doesn't
look like the Ryan we all know.
Not happy with the bike, with the personnel, KTM giving Roczen more
attention (as there new number 1 rider?)
2015, Look to see Ryan on the new factory Husqvarna 450 new
number team rider.
What I love it how everyone here thinks they know what these riders are thinking. None of us know, or very few. I really feel for guys like Dungey, he has been an American Champion and represented his country more than any of the current riders and still people put shit on him. Reminds me a little of Steve Ramon who was also said to be too careful, but always performed at the MXoN and won two World titles.

I'm sorry Kent, but that is ridiculous. KTM is kicking the collective motocross/off road Japanese brands ass all over the map. New technology constantly. Dungey is within a few 10ths constantly of RV and has been indoor and outdoor since joining KTM. For anyone to think that he can ride the Suzuki any faster is smoking crack. That platform is ancient even though it still works. JS is super fast on it but no faster than than the other fast dudes in the class.

As for Roger, Suzuki fucked around with him forever and only offered him a multi year deal once KTM offered him the same. Suzuki disrespected him with that offer completely. After all he has done for the brand they were essentially trying to send him out to pasture, take the 1 year deal and disappear kind of thing as far as I'm concerned.

Remember last year at Minneapolis? Dungey will be at or near the top for the entire season and come April, he will be the only one left with a legit opportunity to beat RV....again....Dungey and KTM are more than fine and I don't see any reason whatsoever as to why he would leave. The grass is not any greener anywhere else in the paddock.

RV is faster and it could be argued, better as well. I usually stay out of the debate on who is faster or better because it's pointless. Here is what I don't get though: Why is it that any thread that discusses Ryan Dungey, whether it's a positive thread or a thread like this discussing whether or not Dungey is happy at KTM. Why is it that wankers like peelout and zook11 have to jump in and tell everyone how much better and faster Villopoto is?

Yes, KTM hate seems to run rampant by a great deal of people on any forum. Mostly from people who have never rode nor owned one. Take it for what it is I guess.

He'll ride angry just because he wants to win but not because of his pride/ego .. Hes a godly man and arguably one of the nicest riders in the sport off of the track , he doesnt let "talk" get to him... People like that will never let pride and ego get in the way (i.e trey canard) but that doesnt mean they'll get out of the way for you

Thank you. That was the straw that broke the camel's back on your short (yet too long) posting career here at Vital MX.

I hope you can find another motocross forum to accomodate your posting needs. Smile

I'm not a KTM hater but it was clear both RD and K-Roc struggled in the whoops compared to their competition. They also made mention that Dungey's dad said the toughest part of the track for the Orange bikes last night was the whoops.
