I have never understood why the video game makers won't use the real tracks. This track looks awsome and credit goes out to whoever made it.

The serious moto fans build better Replicas than the developers anyway. The tracks released in the game are built for the average game user and have to be fun for a wider range of users from casual gamer to hard core moto fans. I've played around with the old MCM2 editor myself, when I was laid up.

If they were really into moto, they'd have never released such a dud as MX Untamed for 360 and PS3.

Ever wonder why people are still making games for the OLDER game(s) and not playing the new one instead?

Sorry to always bust your balls about it, but damn...what a disappointment that game was. Kinda fun for a few weeks...but definitely no lasting value and a step backwards when compared to previous Rainbow titles.

I guess racing dirtbikes every weekend, riding every day, and competing from a local, regional, to national level doesn't make someone really into moto then huh.

Why doesn't anyone ever go after the makers of games like:

ATV Fury 3 and 4, Nitro Bikes, Freakstyle, or any other game that has MX bikes?

If you tell me it's because they are better, that's one thing...

People were playing MCM2 Until Unleashed PC came out, heck some guys still are playing MCM2, and I'd have to say that MX Unleashed, and MVA Unleashed were far from duds... but people were still playing the old game, so that kinda discounts that argument.

As far as the Glen Helen track, it's pretty neat. Not the best I've ridden and certaintly not the worst.

And trust me, no developers hang out on this board, so say what you please... That GuyB fella said so. Smile

The reason no one says anything about other shitty games is because no one expects them to be any good. Untamed was touted as being the best motocross game ever created. Coming from a company that has made some kickass MX racing games in the past, that's some major hype to throw out.

Unfortunately, Untamed definitely didn't deliver. It's okay, though. I know you guys can't knock them out of the park every time. I'm just worried about future titles, though, since I don't believe some of key players from Rainbow's prime even work at Rainbow anymore.

Didn't Robb Rinard leave to go to a different game maker? These things worry me.

And seriously,

Who was in charge of the bike sounds? They sounded fine in Unleashed but the ones in Untamed are absolutely painful to listen to.

With some major fine tuning, Untamed could be made into a kickass game.

Problem #1 to fix - No more being wide open all round the track. Let's use some brakes in corners!

Problem #2 to fix - THE SOUNDS!

Let me know when you guys get those two worked out and I'll submit the rest of my list. Wink

All Untamed needs to be great is downloadable content or at least make it with the real tracks. I played supercross circuit this whole national season and played the track that was being raced every week with my friends.(substituded Troy for Freestone and Lakewood for Binghampton.)

The Glen helen track for PC is a blast, I'm pretty slow on a gamepad but if anyone wants to race Glen Helen, bring it on.

I never said the developers werent moto fans or racers. I just was merely stating the fact that the game was built for a wider range of users. and that the hardcore moto people build the better tracks. I've built a number of tracks for MCM2 over a number of years, and raced online quite a bit back in the MCM2 days then burned out on the whole gaming scene.

heres a few links to a few projects ive done, I'm not a newbie to rainbows moto games.
