My 14 kawi 450 was backfiring on decell much more then my 12 did. I decided to try the white (agressive) coupler just to see what would happen. Seemed to work a little on the backfiring, but now it sounds like it might be pinging under load. I am running sunoco 93 and it is around 45 degrees out. Any ideas ?

The kawis run lean. Remap would solve your problem.

Bikes will be leaner in cold temps, the EFI will adjust to some degree but 45 degrees is most likely causing a lean issue. Just make it a little richer mid and top end and see if still pings.

Isn't the aggressive coupler leaner than than the stock one? Probably made it worse. Try the Mild coupler and see what happens.

white plug is the aggressive one and its lean, a remap will take care of sll the issues. use good fuel and a remap, or a vortex box.

thanks guys. Yes, the aggresive coupler is leaner. I just wanted to see what would happen. It did not make it worse. I guess I will go with the remap.

I run 1 gallon of Sunoco 110 to 4 gallons pump and that cleaned up my decel popping and pinging under load nicely.
