A1 Predictions, let's hear them..

Lot of people putting Dungey outside the top 5 or not on the podium. I must need to pay better attention because I see no reason for that.

Here's the key right here...

" I think you really have to rely on teams and the bike setup. If you don’t have 100 percent faith in your bike or you’re not feeling good or if it’s personal, you’re not going to win no matter if you’ve got talent or not."

~James Stewart~
So the key is if RV gets his bike dialed he won't lose?

I predict close racing.

I also predict that zook would kill his first born to be friends with Villopoto, you guys that are so pro one rider are strange IMO.

Stewart is actually going to be healthy for once at the beginning of the season for the first time in years. If he rides like he did at MEC, RVs gonna have a hard time finding the extra speed and passing spots to get it done. I hope everyone stays healthy.

And Reed will be fighting for wins in the LCQ.

surprised yall are ranking Reed so high. figuring in his outdoor season riding, constant whining, and a new bike.... i'm guessing he'd be lucky to get in top 5. more like 5-8. we will see i guess.

The thing I'm most Excited about is that it seeems like there
Is way more top 5 Riders than there are spots available
In the top 5!!
Smile
I can't wait to see it all play out.

Losing Trey opens up one of those top 5 spots
.
And imo losing #25 opens up a championship

To answer some ones question .
I can't see the Dunge not being in the top 3
Just my opinion but I doubt he lost his speed from last year
And at most Races indoors and out he and Poto
Gapped the field by Large Margins...

Never been a Stewart fan, but this year im pulling for the guy and thinking he will do well. A1 winner will be js7. Someone coming in quiet this year is barcia....don't think he'll win, but he will also surprise a lot of people this year. 1. Js7, 2. Rv2, 3. Barcia, 4. ET3, 5. RD5

Al Wilcox? That's a bold prediction.
Al Wilcox? That's a bold prediction.

Take one look at those shoes and I'd like anyone try to tell me he isn't favored by at least one lap over guys like RV and Stew.

Every year since Bubba has been in the 450 class. Leading into A1 he has been always voted clear cut as the title favourite. Twice the prediction has come true, Being this thread is A1 rather than the championship. 3 times he has delivered A1 victory.
It has always amazed me, that no matter what "It's going to be all JS7".

In saying all that. This is the first year since 2005 - 2006 there is a new favourite to win. He has earned it. Round 1 or the championship as a whole it is RV's to lose!

My guess is
Bubba, RV, BamBam, huge gap, everyone else...

all i know its going to be an all out brawl the feeld has never been so stacked with talent even now when 2 of them r on the sidelines.

I think Tomac will struggle a little on the 450 as you cant really muscle the thing around like he did with his 250.
That being said i think Kenny will get acclimated to the 450 quicker as he is more of a fine-tuned machine on the bike in comparison to Tomac, not saying Tomac has no skills or talent but Tomac will take a bit longer to get familiar with the power of the machine and learn to use that to its full advantage without going head over heels with it.

I've seen this happening with Joel Roelants last year in the 250's he was a very good rider on the and fighting for wins and podiums week in and week out , he's switch to the 450 this year was a struggle not only because he was coming back from injury but in general he is more of a power rider than skill rider and that did not went to well for him , and now he's turning things around started his own team and started to change up his style

I'm just now getting back into motocross after about 10 years and I'm really amazed at the depth of the field to be honest.

Having said that, RV is just plain good. Really. There's lots of fast guys but he seems to make the least mistakes. (And Bubba the most among the fast ones.)

I'm curious to see how Barcia matures. He seems to have a lot of raw talent that hasn't yet been formed into a consistent mold.

As long as MONSTER drops RV's gate before Bubbas, I will give it to RV.

Halarious, that Stewart fans keep living in the past in 2008 and 2009 and think he's the fastest rider on the Planet still. Ryan Villopoto consistently set's the fastest Practice and Race Laps and has won 3 straight SX titles and 2 MX titles in the last 3 years. Get over yourself, Bubba never has been and never will be faster than Villopoto and before that RC was whooping his AssGrinning
Actually...JS was faster than RV at Atlanta... Fastest in practice...DOMINATED his head race...and led the main wire to wire...and had it well in hand. RV was never really able to show him a wheel. Every time RV closed in...JS stepped it up. That night...JS was the fastest SX rider in the world. Period. So to say JS can never go faster than RV is just nonsense.

It all depends on the track layout and dirt on a given night. Does anyone here even WATCH the way these guys ride...and notice their relative strengths and weaknesses? One guy is NEVER the best everywhere on every track. Some guys are better on some parts...weaker on others...and it changes from track to track who is most favored.

RV is THE best in the fast flat corners (and probably medium or faster corners in general)...part of the reason he is also faster in MX. He also has a unique way of landing on the power...that gains him speed in rhythm sections. RD is really good at tracks that favor tight lines. JS is fastest when there are one or two crazy balls rhythm section combos that only he (the seat bounce master) can do cleanly and confidently. Sometimes when the RMZ is working for him, he can also draw really really tight inside lines...that can help him get holeshots. James also has THE best racecraft of any rider in the field...by far. If he gets in the lead...he WILL mess with your rythm and lines...causing you to lose time..and take the heat off him for a few laps. Very hard guy to pass. Barcia's wins come when he gets the hole shot...and the other contenders have poor starts. You dont always have to be the fastest to win.

So..what will happen at A1? Who the F knows.... That is why they actually HAVE THE RACE! Anyone that thinks they can predict a single race is on crack.
My predictions for 2014:
JS will win more races than RD
RD will finish ahead of JS in the standings
KRoc will podium a lot. I see him adapting to the 450 very quickly.
RV will be the champ...unless he balls it up. People here love to bash on JS for crashing...but RV crashes a lot too. These guys take it to the limit...and it does not take a lot for things to go really wrong.
Tomac? I am a huge fan. I have no idea how he will do. I will not be shocked if he wins a few. I will not be shocked if he has a poor season. I just do not see him adapting as quick to the 450 in SX. He really likes to toss the bike around...and that will not work on the 450. Plus...there are his starts. They will KILL him in SX.
Milsaps has too many things going on. Between surgery...injuries...a new bike...more injuries...I just do not see him getting into the groove. Everything has to be going just right for these guys to ride at the edge...and Davi has way too many things going wrong for him.
Trey? Love the guy's never die attitude...but I just do not see him having the crazy balls speed to run with RV and JS when they are pushing each other. Not to say he could not get a killer start...and nab a win.

RV. Comes out swinging and James answers. Dingy rides safe and gets a gift when they battle to hard.
