Anybody had a problem? Don't want to check it. We all know how gentle airline employees are...

my buddy is a helicopter pilot.... got given the front row of the airplane with no under-seat storage... the helmet didn't find in the overhead bin so he had to wear it during takeoff and landing...

The amount of SHIT people bring on to airplanes and say they are "carry-ons" pisses me off. They have a giant roller bag, a smaller bag, AND a purse. WTF!? no wonder the plane always runs out of overhead space!
Try to bring your whole gear bag on the plane and say "It's not bigger than that lady's GIANT roller bag and purse" haha

That being said, I would bet you would be totally fine. I've brought flowers on a plane and that wasn't an issue.

I travel a lot & check bags due to the Gear Bag issue you raised. The Carry-On Crowd you speak of are the Business-Flyers that have all the "miles" & get on-board 1st; so, no sweat off of their balls. On the other-hand: I've seen more than a few of the Crew tell people, "Uh, no." When they're carrying ALL that shit.

A Helmet should be fine if you're on a regular airline-aircraft like a Boeing or a Scare-Bus.

Happy Travels!

Done it a couple of times, both domestic in the states and international. No problems. It fits in the overhead compartment on the larger carriers. While you possible could ram the cockpit door with the helmet mounted on your head, I don't think that's the companies biggest concerns.

Packed a full FMF RCT 4.1 in a back pack as checked luggage in October. Was a little afraid of the scans but the bag was untouch upon arrival. I've seen exhaust systems go through the scans and they sure do look like something else.

That is exactly how I was able to get my wifes engagement ring to Cali and surprise her. Did it a few times for the arenacross finals in VEGAS too. Worked out great!

Haha that picture is classic!!

Thanks guys, carried my helmet on and security never said anything. Except when the flight attendant grabbed it from me to jam overhead as I was getting seated.. I stood up to gently place it overhead and she starts screaming at me to sit down. Relax lady, I come in peace! Ohh the joys of traveling Smile

P.S. Sacramento is not quite what I expected!
