A few of us from Iowa are coming down for the Texas Winter Series season opener at freestone. We are staying an extra week afterwards and hoping to get some seat time.

We went last year and had a blast. We rode Masterpools, 3Palms and spent a bunch of time at the Underground....errr.

Can anyone suggest some other tracks that might have open practices that following week?

Its freaking cold up here! Hoping for some nice weather down there.

You will want to be at 3 Palms on Wednesday morning. The do a "factory" prep all night Tuesday so Wednesday is awesome. Wish I could get more Wednesday's off from work.

If you want minimal driving, Oak Hill, Masterpool's and River Valley are all within 30 minutes of each other.

RV has practice on thurs, sat and sun.
OH has practice on weds, sat and sun.
MP has floating practice days so call them for the schedule.

If you are in town the 1st or 3rd weekend of a month, and want some of the most fun laid back race for an unreal low price, then you need to hit up Burleson MX. $6 per person or $20 a car load, which ever is cheaper. $20 for 1st Class and $10 for evey class after that. O and some of the beat dirt ever. So for $36 you can race two class and the people are so cool and laid back.

not sure what route you take but I-35 in Thackerville, OK is badass. slightly over 30 min from River Valley and I think they are open every day. call or text 469-667-1901, can also find them on FB, twitter or I35mxpark.com

If you want kickers, same rut in every turn everyday, and dry dirt go to River Valley.
Oak Hill is decent.
Masterpool's is top notch.
I35 is amazing.
Burleson is a pitbike track with one table. But the dirt is amazing.
Johnsonville in Yantis is awesome too.
Village Creek is decent too.

Just a heads up, they race the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, not 1st and 3rd.

I ride at River Valley twice a week. It's usually prepped well, but they have the occasional off day, just like any track. The best prep is on the weekends. I recommend getting there early, because the track gets a lot of riders and it gets torn up by the end of the day.

BTW, I raced River Valley a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely primo.

That's fair enough. I feel somewhat guilty for saying anything about it. I don't like blasting track owners. Before the last few times I went, it was a ton of fun and very well maintained. I can't remember what time of year it was when I went last. It may have been in the heat of the summer.
