Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone knew what happened to Ashlel Foilek? Last I knew she had a factory honda ride. I am aware that women's motocross took a huge hit when the economy did. anyway if anybody knows I would like to hear about her.

last I read she had retired and had taken an acting job in a Tv series.
I will never forget when she won the women's Freestone National a couple of years ago. She gave her trophy to a handy capped person that was there. Those trophys were very nice.

I have a daughter that is the same age as Ashley and has competed at Loretta Lynn's. I said that to say I am interested in Womans pro motocross, but most of the motocross fans are not fans of Womans motocross and almost non of the general public is interested in Womans pro motocross. Its not because the girls dont work just as hard as the guys. Its because the riding level is equal to most local B riders. Some of the mid pack and back riders are on the level of top C riders. Its just not a good enough product that brings in a lot of people to watch it.

While at Freestone a few years ago, about 80% of the spectators would not watch when the girls lined up. Even me as a Dad of a girl racer, I would only watch from a distance. When the best riders in the world lined up I was right there along the fence line. Like most fans of motocross I want to see the fastest of the fast on the track, not riders that ride the same speed
you can see at a local race.

More riders should follow in her boot's. She saw the writing on the wall (no money and not much interest in Woman's pro motocross) and quit last year to attend college.

My daughter never had aspirations of making a living in motocross and always did it as a hobby. Still rides but is going to nursing school.

We looked up to Ashley for all of her accomplishments and she was so inspirational to overcome her disabilities. By going to college it shows she is very smart too.

Some production company(same that produced Soul Surfer) is going to make a movie out of her book "Kicking Up Dirt." Hopefully it will be done right and bring some positive publicity.

Ashley and her folks are GOOD people.

They always have contributed to our MX for Children auctions, etc.

We wish her well and hope her future is filled with success .

we all knew the womens might not take., just like a lot of otherr womens pro sports the interest just isn't there. plus what I saw when we went to the nationals was when the women are out on the track that's when everyone is going into the pits to see the guys. especially now that's its gone to a 1 day program. it definitely sucks for the girls

Ya thats why I wondered she was great for the sport. Maybe one day a chick will be able to hang it out with some of the guys. Thanks for answering my question. this is my first time ever on here. Only one wise guy Woohoo not bad!!

Doesn't Viki Golden compete with the guys? I think the only female to qualify for the main with the guys?

True, but she is quick enough to make the night show at Arenacross. I couldn't. I'm really curious to see just what that Courtney Duncan can do. I mean, she SMOKED the lady pros at Hangtown. On a 125, no less. Too bad she got hurt.

It is to bad for them because my family goes to a local race and we watch every class at every level or speed. It doesn't matter if it's A or C class. It's a race of close to equal skill levels for each class. I am a fan of motocross racing at every level. Sucks so many people just like the cool factor and not the actual racing even though they think or act like they do. To each his own I guess but your selling yourself short if you can't appreciate it for what it is.

Im the same way. When the minis roll up to the gate alot of people walk away and Im left there standing alone. I love to watch every class no matter the level of skill. This year at Mini Os the womens class was great racing although Hannah Hodges smoked everybody. I think right now she is the one to watch.

Zoom: Perfectly said, I feel the same way. Women's motocross is boring, I watched Tara Gieger get passed all day by B riders in Orlando at Bithlo MX. Hodges rides there as well and she is blazing fast but the same will hold true for her unless she was able to make the night show at a supercross race. Unfortunately for her I watch Jordan Bailey ride a stock 85 and pass her supermini with no problems and he is 2 years younger.

No disrespect to women riders what so ever, I think a girl who rides is awesome. But that said they always just seem more hesitant, maybe they cant turn off their brains like males can haha. I have a few bones that will come back to haunt me when I'm older. I'll wish I used my brain more when I was younger.

While Hannah is going pretty good right now. There was a girl that showed up from Texas and owned her both moto's on Hannah's home track. Kaitlyn Morrow from Houston went 1-1 for the win in the Woman's class at the Winter National's.

Kaitlyn also beat her at LL. Went 2-8-1. Lost her rear brakes in the second moto. Set the fastest lap time in the class.

Kaitlyn is the one to watch for sure.

Saw patternson at hog heaven, she was fast but I doubt she would had be top three in the b class.

Like AFFIRM’s 2011 real-life pic Soul Surfer, Kicking Up Dirt tracks the inspirational journey of a female athlete up against the odds. In this case the Oops Doughnuts production will follow Fiolek’s rise to become the youngest WMA champion at age 18, winner of two consecutive X Games gold medals, and the first female factory rider for Honda Red Bull Racing. Kristin Rusk Robinson and Ian Deichtman (Life As We Know It, TV’s Parenthood) are scripting. Oops Doughnuts’ Fickman and Betsy Sullenger are producing, and Rich Peluso will oversee for AFFIRM Films. Fiolek is repped by WME. Robinson and Deichtman are repped by Verve and Anonymous Content. Fickman and Sullenger are repped by WME, Management 360 and attorney Adam Kaller.

She is a good rider for sure, but for by comparison nowhere near the speed of the boys. She tried to qualify for LL in the C class in both 2012 and 2013 and was unable to do so.

I agree that Hannah isnt as fast as most of the top boys but she is still an amazing rider. Comparing her to Jordan Baily is a tough one because from what I can remember Baily was as fast on his 85 as some of the top 20 in B class at Mini Os.Laughing
I think Hannah did race supermini at Mini Os and I think she did pretty good.

Zoom I have never heard of that girl from Texas but she must be fast if she beat Hannah that bad.
