Heck, I still remember when him and Gregg raced at the Springfield Fairgrounds. They had monster trucks and bikes. Gregg and Jimmy were racing little bikes then, it had to be 10-12 years ago.
I think Jimmy tried to win the "jump contest"...
That was the first (and probably only) event that I ever got paid to race at!!
I remember seeing him once practicing at Holler Hill when Matt was first learning to race and we were there. I didn't know Jimmy, but he was there with Gregg. After watching him go for a while, I remember telling Matt that he needed to watch "that guy" and try to see how he was turning so he could copy it.

What ever happened to "Holler Hill"? Isn't that the track with the huge double in the back...just outside of Lebanon?
It's actually just outside of Montreal, MO. I suppose coming up from Arkansas it would be "after Lebanon". It shut down a few years back after the owners (brothers) had some issues and also the son who raced grew up and moved out.
It had the big jump in the back called the Thunderbird Jump.

Yep...that's the one. That was a fun track...although it was dusty 120% of the time.
That jump was called Thunderbird because there was actually a Ford Thunderbird buried so they could use less dirt to build the jump. You got to love the Ozarks!
