Just a suggestion, but you may want to change the thread title to Troy Lee OR Answer. I clicked on the thread thinking there was some kind of legal issues between the two companies.

I've worn TLD stuff that past couple years; it's nice and has held up really well.

That said, I can't believe their design-style has stayed nearly exactly the same for the past few years. Zig-zag elements have been used in different ways for years, and the whole cyclops thing is used over and over. Just surprised as he was always so cutting edge in helmet design. The high-end SE line is nice, almost too plain (other end of the spectrum) but with a really high MSRP.

I've never worn Answer; do not have input there.

TLD pants ride high up on your waist. At least for me. I wore Answer for years and switched to Fly last year. No comparison, Fly gear is the best I've ever worn.

Not Troy Lee for me. I bought two sets of Troy Lee last year, SE one set and Grand Prix the other set , and they both were terrible. The SE stuff tore on a seam my first ride with them, and the GP gear tore after a button ripped out of the enclosure on the second ride. I got terrible customer support on the issue and am still pissed and bitter about the whole experience.

I'm leaning more towards answer only because I've had a set of GP Troy Lee gear and it ripped above the leather on the knee because I grip the bike pretty hard. Also answer customer service is top notch I've heard.

Yup, Fly does & it's great gear.

At the same-time, TLD makes GP pants for $105.

I think the point is...Everyone makes gear at about the same price-point & you pretty much get what'cha pay for.

TLD has me covered...all my clothing & "under-protection" (7705 padded-pants, Elbow-Gaurds...pad kit for my Leatt) & I wear the Body Gaurd, too.

The only things I wear that aren't TLD: Gaerne Boots (a JT$/WPS brand!), Leatt GPX Carbon Brace & H3 Hydration-Pack, Dragon NFX Goggles...

Like I said earlier: I wear EXACTLY what I want.

Total Disclosure: when it's an Adventure Ride/Baja Dual-Sport I'll wear a Leatt Chest Pro 5.5 and Adventure Jacket...it zips up OVER your Leatt & is sooooo nice and warm!

JT$, tell the design department at FLY that they have REALLY stepped it up starting in 2013... I'm a designer myself and I've never liked FLY gear until last year, and now it's all I buy. And the price point is phenomenal!

My experience w TLD is good gear...terrible customer service. Just based on the people I delt with there over the years I would not buy there gear. Pleanty of others that actually care about the people that buy there products. JMO

I will do just that.. I wore it for 10 years before I began working there so I have also seen the transformation that you spoke about. We have a great group of people up there and I'm proud to be a part of it.
