For sure, same with driving games or sports games or any video game for that matter. That's why simplicity in video games can actually go along way. If you want to shift and have separate brakes and transfer weight, you're gonna have to go ride. And I fully understand how and why that's not an option all the time, so simplified video games will have to do lol

So im not a big computer person, but im thinking its not worth paying for the whole game if im going to try and play it on a$300 dell laptop?? What would you say the minimium requirements for a cpu is to run this game efficiently?

Yep and this is why MX Sim will never be a popular title, MCM2 on the other hand you could use a joystick / controller or keyboard for that matter and have fun. Last time I tried MX Sim was about 6 years ago? not sure

I never put in much effort on MX Sim and wasn't really interested, I might have if it was back in the MCM2 era but don't really care now. I'd play MCM2 again if it was re released with a updated graphics engine and some fixes that were needed.

If its really been that long since you have played, its changed quite a bit just in the past 2 years that ive played it.
That just made me also think, how many games have you bought for $42 and played for 2 years? I cant think of any others that Ive kept at it for that long.

I hope this isn't a dumb question and I practice and practice and practice but I cannot get berming in ruts down. Is there a technique I'm missing? Either I lean/turn to much and slide out or wash out or I don't turn enough and lose the front end ontop of the rut. I keep trying unadilla since its got good hard ruts to practice on but I'm not progressing with this part of the game. Tips please.

No one? Maybe Im too late to the game.

Assuming you have an analog gas and brake, try staying just a tad on the gas or brake at all times when turning, it seems to keep the bike weighted and keep from washing out.

On analog? Hmm, not tried that. I have throttle on R2 of my ps3 control and front brake on l2 (rear brake on circle). I recently switched the brakes to seperate buttons which seems to help me a bit on cornering, not on ruts at all lol.

Is the trigger on a xbox controller more like an analog and can be feathered? I might get a xbox control for that reason if so, seems alot of people use them rather than ps3's.

Your R2 and L2 buttons on an XBox controller are both analog. Many will also use their throttle and a brake on the right joystick. I don't do that one, but do run both my brakes on my "L2" and my throttle on "R2"

Are the xbox's r2/l2 easy to feather? The ps3's are supposed to work the same way but they are so short throw that its real hard for me to do anything other than on or off. Thanks for the help too....

I played with a ps3 controller when i first started. Made the switch to a wired 360 controller and its alot better IMO.

Can anyone tell me how to extract the default video out of mxsim? I found the Demo-default in my personal folder but if I just try to upload that it says its not a recognized file type.

I got it figured out.

I ended up sticking with my ps3 control but added a trigger extension to my throttle which has helped me a ton! I can feather the throttle now and ruts arent a problem for me now.

Only real trouble I have that Im not really getting passed is turning jumps, for example the stewart compound has several that you need to be turning in the air. I'll try to slightly whip/lean but my bike always tries to straighten at the last moment so I land sideways.

Back to beginner rider skills Smile i can play okay on arcade physics, I'm like the guy at the beginning of the thread though, seems impossible to ride. I'm still on keyboard though, I'll use y'alls setting and keep trying. maybe the xbox controller will help. 25 pages of tracks, it's pretty overwhelming trying to figure out what to download, where is the stewart compound?

Call me a retard or dumbass whatever I can't make a lap, correction, a turn with arcade turned off. Maybe it's because I am still on keyboard, arcade is okay but dang.

Everyone seems to want to talk about skins tracks etc. F all that I just want to be able to go around a corner! I do have the Xbox 360 controller hooked up now (I'm probably using a shitty configuration.) I've seemed to figure out that you need to turn into the corner and turn away as your exiting to "lift" the bike? Good thing I don't own a gun!
LOL I feel your pain! I think the steering damper thing helps trying to find that advice in here again!
