did anybody miss the joker last year? this year it seemed kind of hard to see the entrance and was on a fast section, maybe kind of snuck up on riders, maybe they need a big flashing neon sign JOKER LANE ---->

Yeah I was thinking that too, weird spot. If they wanna keep it they should put it somewhere a little less discrete.

I say RV2 missed the Joker lane on purpose.
He knows JS7 is going to win that main and he knows he's only going to be knocked down to 6th place for not taking the Joker lane.
If he beats JS7 in the 3rd moto he takes the $100,000

1-6-1 beats a 8-1-2 every time.

Of course his crash messed up his plan.

He knew what was going on, went for the last ditch effort pass before joker (outside in), didn't make it happen and couldn't make the turn. Why else square up the corner like that if you didn't know it was last lap. Then came up WAY short on a jump those guys were making look incredibly easy the whole night.

IMH(vitarded)O of course

Thanks for the compliment on my avatar choice...I understand trying to be different.. But different is not always better. Especially when you try to much different...I.e. if the change creates a dangerous situation? Like the start....Like the electronically controlled gates. Creates more opportunity for mechanical malfunction? Joker lane.. Ruining great battles...

its a different line on the track, the rules next year could be that you must take the joker lane on the last lap of your race. what difference does that make? if all the guys have to take the same line, the only guy that ruins the race is the guy that missed the new line.
ditto x2
Making the joker lane mandatory on last lap ruins the concept, just makes it same old follow the leader rather than separating and gaining time back, but I agree the joker lane didn't ruin the race, makes it more interesting!

Food for thought...

He crashed on the jump because it was the first time not following Stewart over it?.....

So if he knows Stewart has that one in the bag, why not just settle for second instead of 6th?

Blurred vision. By the last lap he had ran out of tear offs because it was raining yellow.

Honestly who gives a damn, shit happens. Great season on the horizon

Ok then, If what I am hearing hear is that we should take racing less serious and dumbing it down to make it more entertaining? Lets just put a freestyle lane in that is judged by fan vote after the race. That way we will never know who is going to win??? Or put in a figure 8 section...We all like to see crashes... I go to circus to see clowns and jokers. I go to a race to see close racing from the start (all on one gate to have a fair start) to the finnish...Racing is racing..lets not make a joke out of it...

I guess I'm failing to see how adding a racing element makes the race a "circus" or a judged freestyle competition. And I didn't see anyone wreck in the joker lane so saying it's like adding a figure 8 to the track doesn't really hold water. . . Are you just upset that your favorite underpaid rider didn't make the main or something? Would changing the lane's name make you happier about it?

He was actually using a more inside line where James was having to rail the outside more....Even James said he doesn't know how RV was getting it that way..but then James says he thought RV realized he missed the jk lane combined with the difficulty of using that line and basically it bit him when he came up short that last time ..racer x interview if I am not mistaken.

I honestly think an obstacle makes racing more interesting. Its cool that there has to be strategy and the rider has to determine the best time to take it. It draws more fans and keeps the current fans more tuned in to see what can happen. I think its great.

Easy enough solution for next year. Just place someone at the entrance to joker lane with a laser to remind him about it.
