He was put on the team expected to be the low points, not consistent.

I would rather have seen him crash pushing it than be a consistent pussy. I like Dungey, but he needs to grow some balls. Start second and finish seventh?

The race was lost for a lot of reasons, not the least of which Belgium put five better rides together. A first turn crash you can count on, as happened to RC a couple times. Something like Tomacs crash can happen, just as Stewart failing to get his bike started is something you can count on. A rider getting hurt is something that happens, as happened to Ferry I think in 03. That's why you get to drop a bad moto.

Finishing out of the top five in both motos is not the kind of consistency on paper you count on from Dungey in any race, least of all this one and even less so when he gates as well as he did.

He knew in that last moto consistency didn't matter. He needed to deliver. He wasn't willing to lay it on the line. He needed to be the leader of the team, not deliver consistent top ten scores (which by the way is terribly inconsistent by his standards).

Coming into the rack I was thinking AC222 and Dungey were the top two guys and was looking forward to seeing them battle. Obviously my opinion has changed. Cairoli embarrassed Dungey. For Dungey to start in second in a do or die situation and go backwards to 7th is pretty bad. I knew we would hear somethi g about bike setup and sure enough we did. He is always having changes done to his setup. I believe RV keeps the same setup for the most part every race. I am a big Dungey fan, but with Tomac and Roczen moving up next year see him having a tough year especially in SX where you need to be able to make quick passes and have sprint speed which he doesn't excel at.

Did he stay in 7th the whole moto? Guys incredible but maybe Kenny can show him how to get aggressive for 2014.

Dungey was not in the same zip code of AC all day. He is/was the #1 rider for USA.

I do not think this was RD5's best ride. He is one of best riders and had the most uninspired ride of the USA team.

So true it's a frigging disgrace and I'm not even a Meri'can. He spent nearly a day stuck sleeping in a foreign airport, does the best he can with the very limited set up time and no help from the other KTM peeps over there I'm sure and still managed the best US score. Some of you fuckheads need to take your selves out side and walk under a bus. Your all probably the same ones who criticize JS7 for his win it or bin it style. Fuck me!

Exactly, in moto 3 there was no strategy to it. Dungey just straight up couldn't do better than 7th. Tomac went right the fuck around him and pulled away in the first moto. Barcia would have been a better MX3 pick even if RV would have been riding MX1.

If someone wads up right in front of you off the start there's not much you can do, Barcia rode his heart out and passed a lot of dudes. If you're fading back as the team's top rider (Dungey)...that shits on you.

There were 3 team mates yes? and all 3 had issues yes? and we lost by 3 points yes? It's not one persons fault, it was all 3 of them and 2nd place is fan-fucking-tastic if you ask me...

his results weren't what i and a lot of american fans were expecting... but technically he was the most consistent.

pretty weird how lackluster he was though. Barcia and Tomac had much better rides both races, although with bad luck for Barcia and a wild wreck for Tomac, the paper results don't show that.

that said, Belgium won and USA took second and Italy took third. the format is the way it is for a reason. Belgium was the best on the day, hands down.

stamp it Wink
