Its absolutly horrible. Im about 20 min from there. Take my son there every weekend.Its so sad cause weve come so far from the sandy storm. Just a sad day.

I don't think Amy is living by the shore anymore since the storm. Either way, it is a sad day for Jersey....

I'm good Steve thanks for asking. I moved back to north jersey since I lost my house in the hurricane. Words can't even describe how devastating this is for that community. So many houses still in shambles and that boardwalk was a symbol of rebuilding. Its hit really hard here. I'm still in disbelief.

My mother is a manager of a bar / restaurant right on the boardwalk and I had called her as soon as I heard there was a fire. She was being evacuated when I called and she didnt know very much other than something was burning and it was bad. I talked to her while she drove home as I watching the local news at work and in the 15 - 20 minutes it took her to get home, the fire had spread 3 blocks. I haven't talked to her yet this morning but from what it looks like, her place was spared - by a couple hundred feet. They weren't even completely rebuilt yet (basement offices, storage, etc) and even though I don't think it was burned, the smoke damage has to be unreal. It's just heartbreaking to think the businesses have to rebuild again and from the ground up - literally. Hurricane Sandy left their business filled with water and sand but at least they had something to work with. It's just unbelievable.

Man that sucks. Its amazing how quickly a small fire can spread.

Hopefully this is only a small bump in the road...but how many more can they take?
