Thanks to Greg-15 for this:

http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Old-School-Moto,22/Danny-Chandler-Memoria…

There was a Danny Chandler Memorial MX held at Riverfront Park in Marysville Ca. hosted by AVDRA. There was a permanent Memorial dedication to Danny Chandler set up on the lawn overlooking the starting gate.

There was original Danny Magoo Chandler items brought in by the riders. Included was a jigsaw puzzle image of Danny at the first turn of the Carlsbad USGP. A past good quality marble trophy from one of his past events was on display showing his attention to detail.

A 1980 Maico was restored for the event and on display.

There was a timed Aviation Fly over at the conclusion of the Memorial Dedication of three vintage Piper Cubs.

Then there was full program of vintage Motocross.

I think the memorial is cool because there is a tendency to grab the handlebars while reading the plaque!

I hope it can be put away when the river Floods or to keep the tweakers from stealing it for scrap metal

Thanks Scotty for moving it over here and thanks Greg-15 for the original post in old moto.
Lots of debating lately over how today's stars would compare with past riders in there prime, pretty much impossible to really reach any kind of logical conclusion on how this "MX Fantasy Race" would end. That being said, if this race could be held, and if Magoo was in it, i would bet my last dollar that Magoo would be watched closer [don't forget, every rider would be in there prime] than any other rider, and would have as good a chance as any of them to win this "MX Fantasy Race".
Now before you start dumping on me on how i must be high to think that Magoo could even be close to the goat, js7, rv, hannah etc, keep in mind, all riders would be at there absolute best in this one "MX Fantasy Race", you would be high not to pick Magoo, or you just simply didn't know magoo when he was at his best!

His pass on Steve Wise at the '82 Superbikers is the greatest pass in moto history in my opinion.

I still have this champagne bottle I got for winning the 80 int class at the Magoo benefit race they had at Hangtown after he first got hurt. It was donated by Brad Lackey and was one of the bottles he popped after one of his GP wins.

They didn't show the first pass he put on Wise. It was at the same place as the pass where wise looks left as Danny passes him on the right. But the first time, Danny squeezes between Steve and the guard rail. The guard rail had an opening in it along the way and if he (Danny) goes any further to his right, he would of hit the rail where it started again after the opening. I remember that as the bad ass pass.

Found it.. Check out the pass @ 13:45. I was close to remembering it right. He gets by, just before the start of the rail.
