I will have to say yes he can and will do it at the MXoN . Hell we have rookies here in the states that are yarding former world GP champions with ease . We all know Tomac does not get good starts , but he really doesn't need them at the MXoN . GP riders tend to take a few laps to get warmed up while here in the states its wide open from green flag to checkers . Tomac won't have to ride through a pack of faster americans to get up and race with the GP world champs . I can see a repeat of 2007 MXoN , this time it will be with ET . If ET gets the holeshot it will be a slaughter .
Nice cast though.
Best rider.

To bad you're a bitter douche for the twelve thousand four hundred and fifty'th post in a row.
He will smoke both Herlings and AC, no doubt about it.
Must be nice for all those rookies to go through all their careers riding at home though
1. Do you know JH on the 250 is also regularly faster than AC on the 350 ?
2. Do you mean rookies that are older than JH who has already 30 GP wins?
3. KR may be slower but he keeps it on 2 wheels, who is the SX Lites champ?
4. I do not remember his name, who hold the red plate in AMA Nationals Lites 2013 until half season?
5. Did you see how Baggett was moving through the pack back in 15-20th at the MxdN in France after getting poor starts?
6. Do you know the intensity is different because the GP races are 5 minutes longer?
7. To answer other comments, aren't SX and MX 2 different championships?
The first ones were just fair questions so now just 3 to bring myself at the same level:
8. Who are the most afraid to cross the pond, AMA or GP riders?
9. It is normal for a French to be French champ, as much as it is normal for an American to be the US Champ', so who is your last World Champ, Donny Schmitt or JMB?
10. Ok you win the MxDn, still do you know that for instance Belgium, who is as big as Washington DC beat U as often?
I mean, you are fishing, but no need to do the "MEriccaaN" because I am sure you will fish some "U-ROOOPPEEANNNS", I mean is it that complicated to have a fair opinion and why can't U respect both series & riders ?
Pit Row
Baggett was in virtually this same position last 2 years
de dycker goes very well at teuschental too- and roczen always rides well at the nations (and he will be infront of his home fans) - wouldn't count them out for winning the individual honours
last year before the event the americans were saying things like 'dungey and Barcia grew up riding in the sand' then afterwards the excuses come out!!! Hopefully tomac will get on better than Baggett has done the last 2 years!!
I think Tomac can do what you say but I'm equally afraid that JH could do the same!
But the MXdN has rattled more than a couple riders. The fanfare, international spotlight, team pressure.....but ET has built his career on a strong work ethic and a steady pace. USA will be again the team to beat.
To further illustrate the above point I thought these direct quotes all from Eli Tomac and all from 2012 were interesting -
“Well, experience is always key. You know I’ve been doing this a little while now, this is my third year outdoors, and every year you learn the tracks more and you learn the bikes more.”
“For me, this being my third season, I think it's helped my qualifying, at least compared to newer guys like Ken [Roczen] and Marvin [Musquin], I know the tracks pretty well.”
“It just takes time to be able to build up the endurance and get the tracks down and everything.”[/i]
In other words getting the tracks down after nearly 3 yrs of racing made a huge difference to him last year.
Post a reply to: Can Tomac on a 250 beat Herlings and AC 222 on the big bikes ?
