Awesome rides! Jordan Smith was supposed to be the man but Plessinger really rose to the equation. Domination.

No doubt, the kids a hell of an all around rider. He's been known to tear it up in the woods too, much like his old man!

Per AMA rules, you are allowed to drop down one class for different disciplines. Anyone who has raced say a district enduro or hare and hound knows that the classes aren't the same between endure and moto. That being said, he is racing national cross country in the pro class. It is a loop hole but that's the rule. I am sure that there were a ton of calls to MxSports before Lorettas.

Congrats to him and good luck in pro.

That's an interesting clause... Somebody should've told Ricky Dietrich he could've been smoking the B class at LL instead of running top 5 at the nationals back in '09,

Uh oh. We can call this controversy "moto guys getting pissed off because the offroad guy beat them in the mud-gate".

The actual wording

10. Riders who race in MX, Enduro, Hare Scrambles and Hare & Hound and have different classifications in those types of racing, may not vary more than one level.

Exactly. I was running "A" class in harescrambles and "B" in MX for a while. I also raced "pro" or "money" in some local CRA and AWRCS races, but when doing the GNCC's I did "A" class. I never had any issues, different series=different levels of competition. The GNCC's are not AMA, Lorettas is.

The gncc's are AMA

Not even close to the same racing discipline.

No they aren't. They dropped the AMA in 2012

Well this is interesting because Aaron raced "B" at Lorettas and Pro at the GNCC. That would be two levels, not one because GNCC's are classified as Pro, A, B, and C.

Just to put some of this in context. I was a decent B rider and was quite a bit faster than Scott Plessinger at MX when he was a woods pro champion.

GNCC is not motocross.
Two different sports.

AND, He did it on a old carburated outdated bike.Laughing

Considering that most people think the Yamaha 250F is outdated and old there was alot of them on the box this week at the ranch.

We will see who goes further in the pro MX ranks....I'm going with Jordan Smith. No doubt the mud helped him, just like mud races in the nats or SX, the usual fast guys don't normally win those either.

now that Aaron and Smith are on comparable bikes I think it will be a lot closer than some people are thinking. this was Aaron's first weekend on the Star bike, he's only going to get faster on it.

Yamaha has a great amateur team, I really can't wait to test ride the 2014s

Congratulations Team Ideal on your appearance at the Ranch. I got to see one of your motos. I parked near JM Racing and saw Denny and his dad off from their pit +35. Sorry I didn't make it down to you, crutches not the best means of transportation. Still mending and grounded with 2 holes in my stump, resorted to crawling around.

darian sayani will be faster as well too. electrical grimlins really messed his day up in that class. I must say though that anyone must be crazy to think that racing those gnccs wouldn't help plessenger. most dudes that rides any sort of off rode do well in mx as well. did any of you guys ever watch any of those worcs guys ride at glen Helen.

Thanks Tim. hope you got to see one of his good motos and not one of the bad lol. we were in the back 40, but actually in a good spot. should have sent me a text, could have come and chatted. hope you get to feeling better and we catch up soon.

Darian was on the gas, and anyone that doesn't think Josh Osby won't be in the mix down the road is high too. all of these kids are on the way to the bigs, hopefully we get to watch it all play out.

all I know is AP57 laid the smack down all motos and I started this thread to congratulate him for it. When it counted he stepped up all 3 motos. I kept hearing about all of these other riders and yet they didnt pull off one single moto. Now its, they had this problem, that happened, etc. How about just giving the kid a "good job" since that was what the thread was created for ? Is it really that hard for some people to do. I know some must be really deflated right now but why try to take away from a brilliant 3 moto performance by AP57?
