I was looking at some pics from Barcia, Metcalfe, & DeReuver. I was wondering who was posting the faster lap times. Anyone know?

No idea but he smoked everyone at a NESC at Southwick last weekend. Including Dowd.

Barcia would smoke them in a 5 lap race- maybe a different story with 30+2

Smoke them??? I find that hard to beleive. No doubt he's fast but i doubt he would smoke 2 of the faster riders in the world. Whats up with the Amsoil graphics??? Thought they stopped sponsoring Factory Connection a while ago?

Barcia is blazing fast.
I personally think there is a learning curve for all but a select few when making that step to pro. That being said, I really think Barcia is the "select few". haha

With the training and the program he has been involved with, I highly doubt there any concern over him going 30+2. Im not in the know, but that just seems like something that would have been prepared for and tested before moving up.

On a more serious note, is there a press release or any direct statement from the team on his plans?

Man, he didn't smoke me and Metcalfe. I think he was at least 5 seconds a lap slower than me... Metcalfe chased a gap of 7 seconds down in 3 laps!

Thanks for the info. How did your times compare to Metcalfe's times.

3/4 seconds faster. Today a little bit more cause yesterday's track was quit tight. Nice track today... Little bit to flat. Let's say....complete flat! I want BUMPS!

I really would be suprised if Metcalfe was 2+ secs faster per lap than Justin. No offense to Brett, but I seriously doubt that that would be the case in an actual race.

Well at that track yesterday he passed him easily. So did I. I know he tried hard, I saw that.

maybe, not doubting your version. I just dont think if Justin lined up on Sunday at Southwick that Brett would be 2+sec a lap faster. As I am sure you know, practice is just that, practice, The race is a whole different dealio...

No matter how fast you look in the amatures it's hard to predict how he will look up against the best.

I beleive Metcalfe could be 2+ seconds faster than him easily. Metcalfe is one of the fastest 250f riders on the planet. If he could get better starts he'd be battling dungey/RV on occasion.

You can't really get a good conversation on this board... some guys just think what they wanna think an that is it. They have no room for other visions.

Huckster, 1st you say you really doubt it that he was slower than Metcalfe, than I told you he was, and now you say that practise is something different than a race? Man...

If he's going ot be a top pro he better practice how he races. Plus i bet he was giving it his all to try to keep up with them.

If if and buts were candy and nuts....

Metcalf is a great rider. He is with out a doubt a top 10 lites guy and without a doubt its a whole new game when AM kids turn pro. Justin isnt just another fast AM though. He is as solid as they come and the kid flat out hauls. Only time will tell, but if I had to bet, I would bet that Justin will have a rookie year similar to Stroupe before he got "sick."

yea, there is no doubt that barcia is going to be running in that lead pack. Not only did he lay down some of the fastest times of the week at LLs, he did it late in the week on a rough track and held those laptimes throughout his motos. There isn't another amateur out there right now riding at Barcia's level...just listen to him and you'll figure out pretty quick that the kid is on the gas.

My point is, how can you predict when all he races against are ams? That are nowhere near as fast as the top 5 pros.

You would argue that "practice" and the actually "race" are not different?

There is plenty of room for other visions or opinions. dont get your feathers ruffled though when someone doesnt agree with yours. My opinion is that I do not think Brett Metcalfe is 2+ sec a lap faster than Justin Barcia and we shall see next season.

Good luck Sunday. I hope you ride to the best of your ability and that will show everyone where you stand at least for that particular day.

Barcia is good, but those guys should be beating him. the kid just moved to the A class 3 weeks ago.

when Barcia is ready to move up, he will be ready and will be a top kid. He will be at the level Stroup, Izzi and Canard were when they made the jump.

My son rides 3 - 30 minute motos a day training for Lorettas...sometimes 40. I'm sure Barcia is doing at least that .....so he would have no problem doing it. (and im not talkin just puttin laps in but timed, as fast as you can, laps). He's fast

When I said that he was slower, that is not an opinion, that is a fact. That is something different...

Don't even take the trash talking seriously - the guys who do the most could NOT even win the novice class at their local track.

Good Luck and Pin-it!

what people don't see......is that he's racing against amateurs, that makes a HUGE difference in how fast someone "appears" against "amateur" competition.
