RD has won the last two overalls, but RV is clearly the faster racer. Also RD hasn't gain a bunch of points in the 2 wins.

I'm sure it helps RD but I bet it helps RV more as he is like RC and is punishing himself until he absolutely smokes everyone again.

I say both Ryans have the momentum. Half way through the season and only 12 points separate the two of them, yet 3rd place Barcia is 52 points behind Dungey, and 4th place Canard is 102 points behind Dungey. Yea, I'd pretty much say the Ryans are running away from the rest of the field. I find it hard to believe that with the differential in race wins that ony 12 points separate the two.

It's hard to argue that Ryan doesn't have the momentum at this point. Ryan has his program together: Great bike, fitness, confidence, and a winning team.

I'd think the guy who has in: SX( 3 off races, 4 SECONDS and 10 WINS) resulting in a Championship coupled with: MX( 3 out of 6 overalls, consisting of 9 MOTO WINS to his rivals 3) resulting in points leader from the very start of the season has the momentum, but hey... call me bat shit crazy!!!

Especially considering the very last moto RV walked away by 15 seconds when they started absolutely together!

Seriously... if any of you were racing locally, and in your series you had beat your best competition 9(wins) out of 12 times you wouldn't think YOU had the momentum? Regardless of tied in OA's?

I am asking this seriously. Dungey is a silent assassin and a bad mofo on motoscooter, I know this! But if those numbers were reversed would all of you say RV has the momentum?

I can go for either of them winning the title, hell... I even wanted Barcia to be mixing it up, IceTREY too... but the Ryan's are just to strong for those guys right now.

Good post, and true. Pretty much my feelings as well.

Points are still tight though. 12 points are easy to make up if RV does have a mistake

The points system is designed to keep things interesting. Notably, it doesn't place much emphasis on a Moto or Event Over-All.

RV carries the most momentum through the corners. His wide lines are awesome to watch. Reminds me of Bagget last year.

But I think RV is getting a little arrogant. He's a bad dude, so maybe he's earned it.

But at the end of the day I am a Dungey fan. He's a bad dude as well.

I would say it does place importance on moto finishes but not overalls. You get nothing for the overall.

I say RV because every single moto he's on a tear doing whatever he wants whenever he wants. Watching him come from behind last weekend was absolutely amazing and in the second moto he showed what happens when he gets a top five start.
