Morning people, fans, whatever..........
For only the 2nd time in my long career, I've had something stolen from our pit area.
ALL the teams big & small set up and leave plenty out throughout the season, both in SX and now MX.
Security at many of these Professional events is marginal most of the time and that's another issue
in itself, but to arrive back to your rig on race day morning and find something missing that you've had out literally
all season long stings plenty.
Especially when it's an item that's not so easily replaced.
Before I bill the powers that be I'm appealing to the masses that were there at High Point to :

PLEASE RETURN THE 2) TWOTWO MOTORSPORTS TABLE CLOTHS, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NONE!!

You can private message me on Vital and I'll gladly give you our American Honda address.

PLEASE, IF YOU KNOW WHO DID THIS, WE JUST WANT THEM RETURNED!

Thanks.

What a shame Dave! Ive always been leary of leaving the pit area even during the races with things out. I put all Joeys stuff away. Crazy. Hope you get them back! Being from the east coast if I hear anything i'll let you know. Smile

Of all the items in the pits and the rig, they stole tablecloths. I am betting their IQ is not above 80.

Laughing Sorry Ozzy, I laughed when I read tablecloths. I was expecting to read it was your favorite tool or something you've had forever. But yes it does suck that custom logo'd items that define your pit area were skanked. Not only were they probably not cheap to begin with, now you have to go through the hassle to replace them before the next event. That hassle is usually worse that the cost involved by far. I hate a thief more than most anything else and had to deal with a similar issue lately myself.

Maybe, just maybe someone will come through and return them when they "realize" they weren't there for the taking.

I have to admit, I stared at a wheelbarrow full of Honda wheels for what seemed "too long" one time back around '02. They just looked soooo trick though. I also had ideas of hijacking the Yamaha rig when Henry was on the hand built full works YZM.....can't help it, love the works stuff! Speaking of Rupert pics, someone keep an eye out for this guy at the next race just in case he shows up with a Team Two Two too-too...Huh

Dirt Bags!

Look for the guy(s) with the TwoTwo homemade shots, shirt, canopy etc., next year!

Let the PA - Craigslist surfing begin...

Best of luck on the return of said items Dave!

Not saying its right to steal, but look at it this way. Obviously the guy who stole the tablecloths is a Reed fan and will probably hang them up at his place or put them on the table. You dont steal TABLECLOTHS to resell them... The other thing is, Chad has millions of dollars and how much would it cost to make some more custom tablecloths? Like 50 bucks? lol... The guy that stole them is probably poor. The Reed team should be worrying about more important things, like how to break into the top ten! Why really worry about someone returning...tablecloths? lol.

Of all the thing that could be stolen... Why can't some people keep their hands of other ppl's stuff??

@above: Who cares if TwoTwo is ritch and the stealer is poor? It's not like they became ritch from sitting on their asses like (most) poor people do.

Keep your fucking hands of stuff that is not yours...

I'm not about to start making comments about the IQ of fans; because, I am one.

Now, about those tablecloths...

What's lost in translation is that these Custom Printed Items cost a TON OF MONEY...I just saw a quote for the custom printed rugs that go under the bikes in the pits...

This stuff costs a TON of money.

Like I said, more of a hassle to order and wait on new ones than the cost of the item itself. But, custom made items like that don't come cheap. Probably costs as much as the flat screen TV's and stereo some thief ripped out of my motorhome a couple months ago. I fail to see much difference.

It's a two sided argument for sure. You can't lose much sleep overnight over a tablecloth. But at the same time, it's pretty offensive to feel like you have to lock EVERYTHING up just so it won't get stolen.

Everyone on this forum probably rides. How often do you make sure everything is locked in your truck? Probably never. It would suck to come back and find that someone took your straps or something that doesn't cost much, but is just an inconvenience to get. And if they're willing to steal something relatively invaluable, what else are they willing to steal that is actually worth something.

If IQ is any indication of who committed the crime …. I found the thief: it is Kent Christensen.

Well how BIG are these tablecloths?! If they are just normal size table cloths I fail to see how they would be very expensive at all. Sorry, I know nothing about... tablecloths. Just seems kinda laughable. But from the sounds of it these tablecloths are worth many hundreds of dollars? People steal custom banners from races all the time and nobody every makes a deal about that, in my mind I am thinking of table cloths like banners. Again not saying its right at all but kinda seems silly to make a deal about it at all. Nobody is going to return stolen tablecloths...

I, an honest poor guy with a high iq, have had many thousands of dollars worth of things stolen in my life, including cars stolen and home burglarized twice. Maybe thats why I sort of find it odd when a rich guy makes a deal about his tablecloths being stolen. And no I am not a thief. I give money away all the time, homeless people, etc. Im sure some of you have noticed I am running a game here giving away $100 cash and a trophy, and didnt ask for a dime for anyone to play.

I equate this to something like a car cover being stolen off your car. Not exactly something you go making a big deal about and making a plea for its return...

"When you get a Team you can learn for yourself 'Just How Much' this ALL Costs..'til then? I'll keep doing what I'm doing."

This is laughable. i know who did it? really? I havent attended a race in over a decade. I live in california (race was in pa). I am just making a point that... This is what it boils down to.

Its wrong to steal, but this is a very minor case when it comes to stealing.

reed would have never become a millionaire without "stupid, low iq, tablecloth stealing "fans"" way overpaying for tickets and track food and rider merchandise and new bikes they didnt need for decades... think about it. let the damn poor lowlife guy have the tablecloths, that is just my mindset. even as a poor guy, such a trivial thing would not bother me. I am assuming the value is low but I guess I could be completely wrong and these are record setting tablecloths costing hundreds of dollars. if thats the case well then, fine, whatever.'

its just that $200 to a millionaire is like $2 (or a lot less) to a normal guy like me. I give homeless people here in cali money all the time and think nothing of it.

In the end it is wrong that his tablecloths were stolen and would be nice if they were returned, but to make such a big deal about this? eh... If they were such precious tablecloths why leave them alone? I am super paranoid about any of my stuff being stolen because I have had so much stolen... So I am careful that nothing of mine could possibly be stolen. I am 31, it was my younger years when I had stuff stolen and gradually I learned and by the time I was 25, it was not possible to steal something from me since Im so careful.

In California theft is RAMPANT maybe that is why I am sort of numb to the idea of low value items being stolen. It happens so much here that it doesnt seem like a big deal. And again, I am not a thief. I am the most honest person I know and I actually enjoy giving money and things to people.

whether you steal a candy bar from a store or a CRF450, it's still stealing, it's fucking illegal, and it's still a shitty thing to do. and it's even shittier that a "fan" attending a race is the one doing the stealing.
