2002 Cr80 shock problem

I have a small problem with my shock, my rear shock was a bit low/soft soft my dad charged it with air. happened to be too much air. now the shock is way too springy and we cant seem to let air out to make it less springy.

You need to bleed out all the air and replaced it with nitrogen, hopefully you didn't rupture any seals or the bladder and probably need to replace the shock fluid also.

Sounds like the bladder may be ruptured. If so You will need a new bladder and a shock service with an oil change. When I have had a shock bladder fail all damping is lost. The shock is no more than a spring. It may be way overdue for service. Not sure how much pressure is needed for a CR 80 but around 150 psi would be my guess. Only use Nitrogen at the correct pressure.

How did your dad put air in it? You probably need to send it to a suspension shop, they will know what to do and have the proper tools

Like you would put air in a tire i'm guessing, just put the nozzle straight on the valve.

chances are the air compressor pressure is less that the PSI of nitrogen needed......so hopefully did not blow out the bladder.

You still need to have a shock service performed by a professional who has the needed tools and nitrogen set up..

I called a shop just now and he aid he will just change the nitrogen, is that all I need to do? or do I have to do a full service with fluids and all?

EDIT: forgot to say I did not ride it only sat on it so I hope that it didn't do anything to the bladder.

Oil breaks down.... and that is more than likely what your whole problem was. The shock needs to be torn down, cleaned and inspected then fresh oil and nitrogen.

Try to find a suspension shop that specializes in this.....probably cheaper than a Honda shop and will do a more competent job.
