from watching james today and comparing him to the 2007 james that battled with rc every week I would have to conclude that he is just not that excited by racing anymore (my opinion and i hope i am wrong). I have seen what he is capable of and honestly, the 2007 james would put half a lap on the james that raced today. maybe too many distractions?

it just may be a "job security" type thing. to show that he can complete a whole season .i'm sure, teams may look the other way during contract time if he is yr after yr unstable .he's not getting any younger.
I think he's doing whats needed w/ whatever is holding him back(injury).

There's only one sure way to tell if James is "going faster than he ever has"... LOOK AT THE SCREEN!

If you go "oh fuck" with your jaw dropped and eyes bulged out of the sockets... several times during a race, and he stays upright, well... that's IT!

I don't know about anyoone else but, I don't see it happening.

If he finishes the entire season and lines up to race every single moto, then that should be something positive to take to next year. He is riding with a torn ACL and bum wrist and still is a top 5 racer in one of the most competitive series on the planet. Better than having him push the envelope and crash again and sit out the series.

Really wish he would've got the knee fixed in the early SX season and came out swinging in the outdoors! I gotta say, I don't like this new Stewart guy. I would rather see him retire than struggle for a top 5! IMO of course

he hasnt rode a full season outdoors in awhile..dude needs to get back into the grind of things in order to compete for a title
wrong....same could be said last year but he ran RD's pace...granted maybe RD's bike was not developed like it is now...but he certainly was better (head and shoulders) above Alessi...this year..seems to be at Alessi's pace...something just doesn't add up..and all these excuses won't change that fact.

He's flying the colors and getting paid to do it. Great to see him out there, any race he's in is better for watching.

Love JS7!! It is a bit weird not watching him destroy all comers, but what super human athletes doesn't become human?

Not Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Bobby Orr, Joe Montana, Tiger Woods (he had an excuse, a good one. Jeez, the babe's! Can't blame him for that), nor Wayne Gretzky, King Kenny, Val Rossi....and someday not RD or RV, get the picture?

He is doing better than I thought he would this year, I thought he would retire this year.

Go JS7!! (he must be proud of his brother, how cool would that be!?).

I've heard it said multiple times from the announcers that his knee injury "wasn't as bad as initially thought", so he may not have anything done to it. If he does in the off season, there's no way he's back for SX. He'll be lucky to be 100% by next outdoor season. I don't think the knee thing is holding him back, more than anything I think it could be fear or concern of getting another concussion, or maybe it's the toll of all his injuries that have accumulated over time is just wearing on him. Thus he's not hanging it out there as far, and I don't blame him. It's just great to have him out there as the sport is better with him actively in it. Lastly, maybe he's just content finishing ahead of Chad Reed every week (Har!).

Have you ever applied for a AMA Pro License? or earned any points at a AMA Outdoor pro national?

Jack S, does it matter if someone has an opinion and never held a pro license?

Do you watch other pro sports? Have an opinion on a qb, a pitcher, a golfer, a NBA player? Point is, it's an opinion, credentials don't mean anything. I'm sure you have a opinion about the president, have you ever been president? It's a dumb arguement.

That said, don't you guys worry, James is off that piece of crap Yamaha, and now that he is on a bike he wanted to ride, well he will start winning anytime now, just wait for it.. Wink
