He's had that edgy style since as long as I've followed him. That pass on Canard in Moto 2, where he only landed on the rear wheel and wheelied past him was wicked.
Also, the shot of him ridng a wheelie up the starting section just before he passed Barcia for the lead in the same Moto . The guy deosn't look like much in opening ceremonies compared to the others showing off.
He saves the crazy s*** for the race and that's what I think is so cool about the kid's style..

Didn't mean to have it come off as me saying he has no style. Now thinking back he has been like this outdoors for just about his whole career. I was thinking more supercross series. He seemed to hang it out much more this season after injury. I noticed that in one of his "come back" pre-season videos. But maybe thats just me. Either way, its a beautiful thing to watch. Cant wait to see it in person at Southwick.

I used to criticize RV for being, in my opinion, a boring rider to watch in 2010-2011. He's changed up his style so much coming into 13'. It's awesome to watch. Seeing him throw whips, scrub and just all out haul ass and blow apart berms is awesome. Too bad its his fans that make me hate seeing him win.
^^^This!^^^

I've never been a Villopoto fan, and I'm still not. But, I will say that this year he is incredibly exciting to watch ride. He looks like the Blake Baggett of 2012 to the 10th power. The way he grabs a handful of throttle and lets the back wheel steer the bike is a sight to behold. He makes guys who have killer style like Canard & Barcia look boring and slow in comparison.

After watching Alessi dominate Villopoto during their entire amateur career...who would have thought Villopoto would become one of the most dominate riders in history, while Alessi would become an "also ran"???

Like the kid with the beard on my jr high basketball team that dominated all of us pre-pubescent boys...then was just "average" in high school...Alessi peaked too early!

It has taken a couple years, but he is starting to ride the 450 the way he used to ride his 250. Hangin off the back and driving the rear end down for max grip. Definitely our favorite rider to watch.
