Its true though.... RC knew James was faster, but lacked the conditioning and experience that the 7 year older RC had..... as soon as RC saw it coming together for James..... he bailed!!

It depends. I think that this is the best James that we have ever seen, but the pace this year was considerably slower than past years. James knew that with no RC, Reed and then with injuries to others that he only needed to go 3 seconds a lap faster instead of 8.

Carmichael was what's considered old in what's a young mans game. Even at his old age though, he beat a young Stewart who was in his prime for 4 straight AMA titles. Carmichael in his early 20's would have smoked Stewart worse than he did in his late 20's

After 10 years of racing full time SX and MX, Carmichael said he was beginning to feel the effects of it. Racing both series ALL season for that many years will start to break a persons body down, that's why some guys are considering SX only, so they can have a longer career. Even though RC seemed superhuman, he decided after 10 years of stomping everyone into the mud, it was time to hang up his boots.

I believe RC himself said "He could no longer run the pace"..You're starting to annoy me...

Well! RC ran the pace long enough to beat James 4 straight times didn't he and guess WHAT!!! nothings ever going to change that. Now we have a guy on a little 250f that's running faster than Stewart. Stewart's moment in the Sun is going to be brief, so don't blink or you'll miss it, he'll never dominate like McGrath and Carmichael did.

When did RC say that? It's kind of an odd thing to say when you are smoking everyone.

Ha! funny that when Stewart tried to run RC's pace outdoors, he usually ended up spreading out Kawasaki parts to the fans for free

Stewart's issues seemed to be riding his own pace.

He said it at the last MXDN, right about the same time he said he had gotten tired Assjack...

I'd rather you look it up since you said that RC said it several times. And...we are talking outdoors here.

you have to compare the best RC with the best JS. And steward has still time to show us. I believe steward is a better SX rider, outdoors I think RC is the better one. But we will never know cause the best RC and the best JS are never gone race together. RCs best time is gone.
But why this discussion. RC is retired and JS doesn’t have to go faster cause no one is challenging him.

RC played James and all the rabid fans like the puppet master that he is. Here is a quote for you,,,'My biggest advantage with James is that I know who I'm racing with.' Face it, as fast as James is, he was owned outdoors. You can dredge up every excuse you can think of and it won't change a thing. The same is true this year. James absolutely owned everyone he raced against this year. Can RV step up? Will James defend his title? Does BL get booted AGAIN?!!! Time will tell, just like it told the tale of RC and James.

No need to post the quote Bob Hannah! You are Hannah right, I mean since your posting under his nick name? Hahaha! I guess your one of those guy's that in 10 years you will be saying "if RC was out there"!

I saw the interview and RC did say he knew he would not be able to run the pace another year and he wanted to go out on top. No more needs to be said. The GOAT is now a jump-monkey going for the gold and 4-wheeling!
