can you use a seal doctor to help clean out a leaking fork seal on a 13 honda? leaving for a race tomorrow and see some dreaded drips on the floor.

I swept around mine with a tear off and no air escaped. Didn't do what I hoped though because I had cut the seal with a nick in the lower tube. A bunch of oil leaked out , but only lost 1psi of air. Smoothed the nick and replaced seal, all good now. Same as any spring fork.

Yes, I've done it on mine. The seal doctor slips in there and cleans but doesn't let any air out

No, But oil collects between inner and outer tubes around the seal and guides and is held there with air pressure behind it.

I bought one just it case and put it in my toolbox that I carry to the track. I've read where people say you can't use them because it would let air out. I say so what, just release it to start with or just add back what you lose.

I thought i read an article in dirt rider where Bones from Pro Circuit said to definitely not use the seal doctor on the air forks.
