My condolences go out to all of Steve Bruhns' family, friends, and the motocross industry for the loss of "TFS"!

When I was nine years old, TFS lived with my dad (Steve Bauer) and I for a short while. I remember a lot of laughs, extra moto talk, and relentless teasing between him and my dad- all in good nature of course. Heck, he was such a great guy that I even gave up my room for him when he stayed, but this was partly due to the fact that his "snoring machine" was pretty loud.

Almost 10 years later, I saw him at the motocross races but didn't recognize him at first. He had lost about half of his body weight. Talk about an inspiration!

Although passing at the age of 53, Steve Bruhn accomplished more than most people could ever dream of in a lifetime.
In addition to being an engineer for NASA, he was also a photojournalist who could capture spectacular moments as well as tell about them. His impact on the motocross world will continue to resonate, and his presence be never forgotten but greatly missed by all those whom he inspired. Rest in Peace, Steve Bruhn!

God Bless, everyone!

Ol' Steve must have been an inspiration to you, Gabbi, for you to venture into these uncharted waters to pay respect to him. Normally, new posters on this board are hazed with a few "STFU, Noob!" posts, but I think your post was really well done. Bruhn would have approved...all part of his evil plan, of course!

Nice first post Gabzster, it's good to hear all the great stories about Steve I loved how he came on here and stirred up some serious shit Smile and messed with people that had much smaller IQ's . Yes, he was a sandbagger of sorts but a friggin good one at that Smile I'm sure Steve is slinging shit (in a good natured) wherever he is now .
Godspeed Mr TFS

I think the only thing Steve (TFS) under estimated was the amount of people he truly had an impact on in this world.

Thanks for everything & RIP , TFS , Condolences to all his friends and Family

Wish I could have made it.

Nice post! It would be cool if some of the riders wore a TFS butt patch at Hangtown!

yes. Stefy and Julie were there, and a couple of others. It was a sad day but the stories were great. Ever see people laugh and cry at the same time. He touched many.

I haven't logged on since February and I came across this very sad news. TFS brought me into the message boards...and at times even blocked me out. Wink LOL

On the occasion I visit the boards I always check to see what's become of my nemesis and I'm very disheartened to find this news.

He will be sorely missed....especially his wildly misguided center of gravity theories and his politics. I had a great respect for this man. Our mutual passion for science and motocross is what brought us together.

He seat bounced himself into heaven!

Ride on amigo and God speed!

I'm so glad I got to hang with Steve MXoN weekend last year. I knew I was having a great time at the time but now that he's gone it makes the memory all that more special. One thing that gives me solace is Steve was definitely at a good place in his life and in great spirits.
