Here I is. Thanks so much for asking about me. Im starting to come around. Ive been off chemo for a couple of weeks now and its as if Im waking up. Weak, not much endurance but slowly improving. Doc says in 2 months I should be feelin' pretty normal. Have to go back in 3 weeks for a Pet Scan to see how I;m doing on the inside. Shit Im so freakin skinny (6' 130lbs) if I stand in front of a 60 watt bulb you can make out all my vital organs as the light shines thru me.

Van is done, kayak purchased and I just did my first trip last week. I just went on my first of hopefully many trips. I went to a place called Willow Beach, Az. It was about 11 miles below Hoover Dam. Here's a few pics. Manana I go to see my Oncologist (every 4 mos.) He's likely gonna be a bit not happy at my weight loss. Last week of March I went on a cruise I came home 7lbs. lighter. Losing weight on a cruise has to be some sort of record right? Well I gained all but a lb. back and then lost 3 more last week. Its a bit of a hassle keeping the weight on but other than that I'm doing pretty darn good. dg

Good to hear from you Dougie. Been thinking about you too.

My friend just had the Whipple surgery and is doing remarkably well. Is that what you had? He to, is skinny as a rail. Your van looks badass and kayak looks like fun.

Remember, eat extra ice cream... Wink

I was wondering too. Good to see you are active and doing well.

The van is sweet. Did you do the build yourself? If so, what inspired you?

Really glad to see that you're doing well!!! After following your updates last year and then not hearing from you for some time, I assumed the worst... If you ever have anything you would like to share about your experience there is at least one person that is super eager to hear your story and/or your curent perspective on life.

The last I heard anything was in November and he said the cancer had come back in his abdomen. He was set to start chemo again but at the last minute he decided against it and was basically just going to ride it out.

A lot of people could learn a lot from Dougie that's for sure, very brave dude.

Aren't you a triathlon guy too? I'm doing my first Ironman Kansas 70.3 in June.
