Good sand section, the big whoops section, small wall, ruts, berm blasting bowls, passing options, originality with the first turn through the finish line jump.

IMO, it was the best one we've had in Houston since '03. They knocked the whoops down some after practice...I kinda have mixed feelings about that. I realize they need a track that a 3 digit 250 privateer can ride but still challenges the elite guys and that's a hard thing, but watching the top guys blitz those huge whoops in practice was amazing. I guess if they'd left them, the races would have been a pileup show in every race, and that's what they were thinking about. In practice, 250 guys were often doubling through, and that was a pretty good strategy - most guys on 250s were unable to keep momentum all the way to the end.

Agree. I thought it made for good racing. The whoops were really giving the 250 guys a challenge. But I would like to see them leave the whoops big, just to see what would happen.

Dirt looked good, but it always looks good in Houston. Do they still store the dirt on site? Between the Rodeo, Monster jam, SX and whatever else they have going on there it only makes sense.

I don't think the racing was boring, but I do think the broadcast was flat. I don't know what the attendance was, but something about how the audio was done it sounded like the crowd was not into it. Just a real flatness to it.

A lot of those 250 guys were just happy to reach the end of the whoops by the waning laps of the final lol

Crowd was flat because the stadium was only about half full. Much less than the last two years I attended.

I noticed them knocking down the whoops in practice and was kinda on the fence about it. It helped some of the three digit guys though. And I think there was only one triple. All the riders loved the dirt and some of the speed shown in that sand section was great. I just moved to TX and was wondering how the turnout would be. Stadium had plenty of seats left but I wasn't sure if that was the norm or not.

Agreed, the crowd looked like it was down some. It was strange, by the end of the night it looked like there were quite a few people, but at the beginning the stadium was at least half empty. Maybe people are just sick of all the WWF pyrotechnics and people screaming on the PA. I know it annoys the heck out of me. These guys are professional racers, not trained bears in a circus. All the explosions and fire plumes in the world doesn't make what they do more spectacular, it just makes it look like Barnum and Bailey baloney. If it wasn't for KDub's transfer, we wouldn't have come into the stadium for intros either.

The track was awesome. The racing wasn't boring, the 450 main event was boring. Ready for outdoors.
