Nice looking build! The custom pipe looks sweet as well.

Only thing I would say is to get the correct size front plate or trim that one down.....that big boy looks out of place ...

Yes, I know what you mean.So far everyone ive found on the net looks to be the same size as the one I put on. The prices for parts on these old Xr's can get OUTRAGEOUS...Guy wants $1199.00 for this kit...

Looks nice...I would really like to find a complete oem stock exhaust in the same condition as yours. Most of the used ones on ebay are junk. I did find one NOS still in the original package, guy wants over $400.00 for it...

$400 is a bargain for an NOS 73-76 pipe. They usually go for about twice that. My bike had an aftermarket pipe on it when I picked it up. I found a non-running 74 with this pipe and bought it just for the pipe because it was in good shape.
re-mx.com has some nice reproduction pipes that are made in Australia and they run $409. re-mx is a good parts source for these bikes. http://www.re-mx.com/xr75/xr75_parts.php

Nice build!I did a '77 XR75 10 years ago and turned out sweet. We (meaning EVERYBODY in my circle)rode it and even taught some people how to ride with it.I went with the powroll header and supertrapp silencer. It really woke it up along witheveryone burning their legs on the pipe!Woke them up too.I sold it last year to a Dentist for his kids to ride.It still started 1st kick.
I am in the middle of doing my 74 MR 50 now that the weather is better.

Great job!!!

I'd love to restore one myself one day...

My very first time riding a motorcycle was a 1975 XR-75 that my parents bought for my brother and I to share.

Soon afterwards my brother inherited the '75 and I got a '77 that was used but maybe had 10 hours on it.

It's safe to say I have a big soft spot for XR-75's.

I remember sitting out in the garage waxing my tank at night on that thing!
It was the 70's, so I'm sure was probably jamming out to the Bee-Gees while i was at it! ...LOL!!

Good memories...

Hope that you enjoy yours & nice work!

Great Memories, great bike and Restore !

I lived by a Massive Forest preserve that wasnt developed for a decade
and Man did we tear it up with an Xr 75 ,GT 80 and a KE 100 with all the lights removed !?!
Work boot's, jean's and gardening gloves were the norm

Nice Restore
