.....I had a lot going on today, so I TVO'd the races and just got done watching them, although I have been checking in on the meltdowns here off and on! Wink

I gotta say, all RV contoversy aside, that was a HELL of a race! Man, the four guys were so close for most of the entire race, that was a sweet race. Of course this one wasn't live.

I think that RV got away a little too easily with his 3 position docking. I'll leave that one at that.

Also, I have a feeling that we are going to see a different Reed from here on out. He seemed very happy on the podium, and talked about "going back to last years setups", I don't know, I have a feeling he is gonna start doing some damage.

I REALLY hope this was Davi's bad race.

Stew rode great.

Kick ass moto, was good to see some bar banging for a change. So what was the official outcome on RV passing, jumping on a medical flag out. Man he really pushes the envelope with the rules, when I'm not so sure he needed to. What did AMA say? I don't see a post on it, and of course they don't show anything on the YouTube clips.

" that was a HELL of a race!"

Couldn't have been... they were riding 4 strokes so that's not possible.

Watching Stew and RV battle was awesome. I think Stew was right in saying that RV "caught him off-guard" with the pass on yellow. I think it caused him to lose rhythm and momentum, which led to him being slightly off the pace when they got going again. It just seemed that way.

Stewart saw this red flag on the right hand side of this screenshot; Villopoto either saw it and ignored it, or he didn't see it. Regardless of whether or not it was seen or if the flag was correctly placed out there, Villopoto passed during that section of track that displayed (correct or not) a red flag. The guy needs to be reprimanded for breaking the same rule TWICE in a race.

That's exactly what I saw. How did the AMA think that wasn't a pass under a red cross flag? It's right in that section!

I'm not saying this because I was cheering for Stewart either, my guy was back in 9th or 10th at that point. I just hate how the AMA rules are constantly and strictly enforced against privateers and certain riders, but not against the main guys. 2nd time during the same night he did that. If it had been Friese or Hansen they would've probably been black flagged at that point.

On top of all that, docking 3 positions isn't strong enough. Unless the guy wins the race, at most that it a 5-6 point difference. I think 5 or 10 positions is enough to have them wake up and smell the coffee.

So where does it say to not make a pass "before you pass the downed rider"?......it doesn't. It says you "can't make a pass before the flag"........which RV didn't. He made the pass the split second they passed the "yellow flag".......which from the pictures above.....it totally proves my point. Also......."before" that section and these pictures........"Stewart" made a pass on RV in the corner with the "red lights on".......

So what do you guys say about that?

From the other pics.....it looks like Stewart made an "illegal pass".......and RV made a "legal" pass".

I know you RV haters will disagree since pictures aren't enough proof.......so I guess think what you want.

It was a great battle. It's great to have Stewart back at speed, however you want to balance the "has he fallen back the others or have they gotten better" point (I think it's some of both). Like Carmichael, RV is a really aggressive rider, and IMO he has intimidated a lot of guys who give way to him. Seeing RV and Stewart trade it back and forth was just great, though I don't think you can deny that RV had the edge this night in speed. What's great is that the other guys trailing can see that, and I think it elevates everyone. They're all tremendous racers and it's really terrific as a fan to see them when they are closed up on one another.

I am a huge RV fan.. And Was sitting right in that corner and when he passed stewart, I thought for sure that was an illegal pass.. I thought the 3 position dock was fair.. But the pass on Stewart was a NO NO... Its over now.. Cant go back and change it. Lets move on to Daytona.. Anyone seen a track map.

Sorry, think you're misreading the flashing lights rule. It's a warning of the upcoming restriction to roll the coming jump section without passion, not a no-pass point. But this has gotten argued ad-nauseum already.

While watching that race, my heart was racing faster than when I'm actually racing. When Milsaps Dungey and Reed started gaining on the RV, Stewart and Barcia pack, I thought someone was for sure going to run it in and try to make an aggressive pass. It was definitely awesome to see the top 6 or 7 riders in a race within a 10 second gap. Can't wait for Daytona.

I just got finished watching the races and my heart is beating so fast right now! OOOOH MYYYY GGGGGOD!

Both mains made me stand in front of the computer with my headphones on lick a effing retard and i got no nails left!

I do wish JS7 would have won the race the and i do think that RV2 got a away a little to easy, its not the first time he ignores flags/lights...

Honestly.......I think both sides of the argument have merit. Both for the RV fans and the Stewart fans. I'm sure if the governing body hands out a penalty or doesn't .....one side with always try to put an asterisk next to this race.

This sport is like the Government.........you can't make all the people happy all the time. Following the rules in this sport should be simple.......but Saturday night was the first time they had ever restarted a race in a single line type start. Then with a couple riders doing some "iffy" stuff.......it gets a little confusing.

Either way....it was a great race.

That's a great job spotting the red/white flag,at the end of the day it's either what the riders saw,or of RV didn't see it he should've abided by the previous one as all the other riders were rolling/keeping in line

I only just watched the race, apologies if it's been said,RV got off lightly IMO,I know that's been said, good race though Smile

the reason for this rule is the safety of the rider and the safety crew. If a rider has to start worrying about another rider slingshotting past him he will go faster .... until its just like the ignored yellow flag.

Do they need to set 2 tuff blocks at the end like they do for the red flag restarts?

Pretty sure if the objections are "fan based," it's going to be the Millsaps and Dungey fans upset at the end of the day.

II am a fan of every racer that hits the track so that really does not affect my judgment.....its a safety thing and it NEEDS to be strictly enforced......and enforcement the same no matter who the rider is.
