I just got a brand new Toyota Tacoma double cab 4x4 today with the TRD sport package. Was going to get a New Ford f150 FX4 ecoboost but liked the Tacoma better and 20k cheaper. Plus I dont need to carry bikes in it , thats what my van is for.

They sponsor the outdoors, plus one of the SVT engineers that was responsible for the Raptor is a huge mx fan.

That's the spirit! I remember 20 years ago, having 2 bikes in the back of an ext cab 2wd 4cyl. Ranger, two more on a trailer with a toolbox, couple of gas cans, gearbags and 4 dudes in the cab. Anything to get to the races!

The bike is on hold a bit longer, but how about that sticker? I want the world to know I'm a Vitard. " Woohoo Sideways Pinch Smile "

Hauling bikes in a pick up sucks every way you can think about it. Hard to load and unload, most beds aren't long enough to close the tailgate, ( I hate that ). No protection from the weather, or from vandalism, sabotage, or theft at the track, especially if you go to races on weekends and sleep in the truck, or if you travel and have to stay at a hotel. A 6x12 Box trailer costs 3 grand, and gives you many options. Less than 3000lbs loaded with all your stuff, even carrying 55 gallons of water and a pressure washer, and 2 bikes, but you can easily get 3 in it. We used an SUV that could handle the weight, and slept comfortably in the back with the seats folded down. Worked out great for a long time. Then we got an old C class rv, and were more comfy. Every one is different. It depends on what you do, and what you want. But everything works. The guy that parked next to us at a regional at Dublin Gap in PA had his bike strapped on to the top of a Volkswagon Rabbit. People in this sport are very creative.

HAR! so epic!!

You guys wanna hear a WAY ef'ed up truck / new bike story? My older bro Chris had his brand new bike in the back of his fairly new F-150 and he and a group of friends went riding out at Clear Creek.

They pulled in to where they were going to camp, and as my bro went to turn his truck around it caught a rut or something an fully ROLLED it!!! He was shattered man! The bike haddnt even been ridden and was destroyed! Talk about a heartbreaker! and my bro aint no goon! Funny how he was just talking about that day last week in some emails between a bunch of us.

Ouch! Now that one would take awhile to get over. Hopefully insurance helped ease the pain....

Its called S N O W , here in Colorado it will fall in great amounts and then melt the next day. Or you can drive for a hour going west and then slide down huge hills that we call M O U N T A I N S or ride snowmobiles up the hills. Also why we buy 4X4s trucks to get around.Wink

and with all you guys worried about stuffing rolling out I have a question. do you know how to load anything? I have never once had a problem with something coming out and its pretty easy tuck some stuff where it cant move and buy a twenty dollar rubber mat for the box and you will never have to put the tail gate up.

60,000 miles and paid 20k. My last long trip I averaged 20 mpg.
