I saw on Twitter last night Matthes said the kid was ok to ride.
That's all we need to know.

Carmichael and Emig are racers not dr's. The fact is nobody even knows if a SCAT test was performed. Moor all we know they could of just asked if he was ok and him say yes I am. Ok go ahead and ride. To think our sport is so professional is comical. We are about 4 steps behind NASCAR. And most of the people involved with NASCAR would know the kid shouldn't of been back out there racing per there rules.

And V782 is in nursing school so he knows what he's talking about....

35's mom is his moms friend so she knows.....

Racers and TWMX are about as reliable as the Nat'l Inquirer......

Regis used to race so he knows.....

The proof will be in the pudding and I hope I am proven wrong! But have you ever encountered some of these racers parents? They have their pocket books in mind more than the health of their child. I'm not saying that's the case here but it's a fact that there are crazy mini parents at the highest level of racing! Anyone that would send their kid out after that crash is not fit to care for children. He could of killed himself or someone else in that 2nd crash where he mysteriously waaaay over jumped a rhythm lane!
So now you believe doctors, but you don't believe the doctor that was there and looked at him?

I figured it out.

Once a ride has a BAD crash, He is out. End of discussion. Needs medical proof he is ok to continue the next week.

- Riders don't know how they feel
- Doctors don;t know what they are doing
- Tests are not conclusive.
- moms are into it for money
- all dads are mini dads

A rider may have internal bleeding or even a concussion that can go undetected. Now we need to find someone who is in charge of deeming a crash "bad" and I nominate someone from this very board.

Thanks Vital for showing me the light.
"once a rider crashes, he is out"

Geez...try a little harder and maybe you can muster up a little more ignorance?

Once again...your 5 wonderful sources all suck because they all come back to the same two sources that are flaky at best.

Why don't you believe the video showing Zack laying entirely motionless for way too long? Oh, that's right, he's merely laying there assessing the situation...and you call me a "dumbass". LoL

Why don't you believe a doctor that is board certified in emergency medicine?

Yep, I'll take the video evidence showing someone laying entirely motionless for that long over whatever tooth fairy stories you're apparently believing in.

You know...none of you folks who take the medics word as absolute undeniable gospel never did answer my simple question.

One more time...How long does someone have to lay totally motionless on the ground before you'd feel they were knocked out?

Excuse me nurse, does this look like a fully functioning human? Because it looks to me like his head was leveraged from his waist into the track at a great rate of speed.

If I would have been on the floor I could help you answer that question. I'm not going to be able to draw out a diagram to tell you why he was able to keep racing. Yes I could see why he would have needed to go to an ER but the doctors who were already there decided he was fit to race. They're doctors. They know what their doing. Chad Reed kept racing after a similar wreck at Millville. Sometimes people get lucky.

Yeah Reedy, never afraid to tell it like it is...good man, good father.

35's Mom give it up about Emig and Ricky, like someone else already mentioned they are paid to keep out of it. What do you have to say about Reed's comment??

Making an account on vital is now better than receiving an MD degree.

You keep totally believing everything you're told without questioning anything and I'll keep basing my opinions on evidence I see with my own two eyes...it's all good.

Im sorry you are not a qualified eye expert or riding coach so I doubt there is even a fender there, let alone a corner *(sarcasm)

Reed was motionless for about the same amount of time at Millville but he finished the race. Maybe he just needed a nap.

Or maybe it was because it was his first supercross and he almost killed himself earlier but narrowly made it into the main. You read that on Vital though so it must be true.

I've never seen someone crash and not scramble to get the fuck out of the way of the pack that's coming at you. That is anyone that wasn't unconscious. I say he was at least out for a few seconds. He didn't so much as flinch. But hey I've been wrong before, once.

And pegleg, your not relevant in modern day mx. Get over it. We all know you were a badass when they first invented motorcycles...
They? I invented the dirt scooter sir.

Since some of the people on here think that they are doctors AND can 100% assess a downed rider from the comfort of their own couch I thought I'd do a little searching on here and found a VERY reliable post that is full of information that a lot of you couch doctors refuse to believe. Here is the link he posted as well just in case you'd like to further educate yourselves since a lot of you seem to think that going to school to become a doctor is pointless.

Who does he think he is? A doctor?! I'm glad someone with bigger initials than me finally shed some light on the situation.

Then they showed highlights of the 250class and now it's Zach Bell and he was KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS again. So, there is a 50% chance that either he or Jake was ko'd. Wink

Thanks, good info there. By the way this is all on the AMMC website.

I have two questions about how the policy is implemented:

1. If this happened during a main event, would they pull the rider off the track so they can conduct the assessment, and then let them return if all OK? The implication of course is that due to the nature of the race doing so will effectively relegate them to last place due to the time taken.

2. Does a rider have to submit to any testing or assessments?

@oJAMEYo Dr. Bodnar has no authority to tell a rider that they cannot continue. That decision is at the sole discretion if the AMA/FIM.

Interesting. If I interpret that tweet correctly, that is someone from Asterisk themselves saying they can't prevent a rider from continuing?
