Holy shit.......I did not see this coming!

Good news! Hope he stays interested in the sport and just does the best he can.

Gotta admit....I didn't think it would ever happen.....but at least this is a step in the right direction.

I don't have personal knowledge, but I bet Hill would never try and distance himself from Lawrence - they are pretty good friends as I understand it.

As a side note, I'm impressed with how little garbage has been talked about Jason in these threads. I hate it when threads with legitimate news get ruined with BS back and forth babble.

I honestly think he'll struggle to even break top 20 at the beginning, especially considering how long it's been since he last lined up. He might do alright by the end of the season if he sticks with it though.

The Sport just got a huge boost in the arm!!
I am almost beside myself that Jason is coming back with all he
has to offer, minus some of the kidstuff!!!! If you are not fan of Jason
you should at least be a fan of the sport and want to see him do well.!!

If Jlaw is in decent shape and comfy, I think he could break into the top 10 in a matter of a few weeks. Like he said, he has been riding this whole time. You don't lose much speed if you ride occasionally, just endurance. The kid has talent, and is a great passer also.

I think this interview is more honest and truthful than the one when he got out of jail. This one is true Jlaw. He is still his same self but seems to be more humbled. Somebody with his talent and skills can do some serious damage with the right mindset and backing.

Ride on the real 338.

As much as I like variety and if he can get back to competitive, he would add a cool dark-horse underdog story to the mix. But listening to that video, he would like to race outdoors this year, but still a dream at this point. It also sounded to me like some of his friends in CA may not be true friends. I did enough stupid things when I was younger to recognize someone trying to say being in location X surrounds you with influences that you know may wreck you and it scares you to death. I got the impression he was scared.

I guess I'll be labled the first "hater" in this thread. I don't understand the attraction. How can anyone pull for a guy like him over a guys like RD5, RV2, CR22, DM18, TC41, etc...? What is it that some like about him (other than riding a dirt bike fast)? The "others" are guys who haven't done anything "negative" like JL338? I hope JL388 gets his life together, but he isn't the example our sport needs in my opinion... I'm all for 2nd chances, but I suspect he won't hold to his obligations to his sponsors as he hasn't in the past.

I don't believe he'll get the support needed to compete the entire 2013 Nationals and if he does, he most likely won't make it past round 4. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I doubt it... I fear he'll bail as he has in the past... Again, I hope I'm proven wrong and would like to see the young man actually succeed in turning it around...

I wish him well, I hope his expations are mature and he realizes it will take a year or so to get back in race shape. I just dont know what he will do when he gets frustrated that he cant hang with the top guys. I hope his words are more then just words and he is ready to keep his word to himself.

why do we have to pull for him over the other guys? why do we have to have absolute favourites?
I want them all to go good some more than others but I'm happy for any of them when they win..

I like him cause he makes me laugh and doesn't take it all too seriously.. I wasn't a fan of the more damaging off track stuff but the cheeky more innocent 'takin the piss' moments are what I like

I like Dungey as much as I like JLaw

Only two pages so far? Man, I thought the Vital server would have burned to the ground by now.

In all seriousness, it's cool to see him back. If he really does make a return for outdoors, it will be awesome to see how he stacks up to these guys after taking such a long time off.

You cant deny the kids got some serious skills on a bike. Didn't he almost win datona in one of the last few races he did?
I think some are underestimating him. I hope he has fun and puts in the effort. He will do well.

Just watched the interview. It was good how he talked about skipping the seasons he said he would race. I liked how he thanked his fans for keeping him going at times. I was actually shocked to see his body language when he talked about his fans (Animated!? WTF!?). A few JLaw-ites around here might deserve some props, and I'd say that's pretty cool. Anyway, dude is refreshing in this vid.

Must admit, I thought the thread was a spoof and an old vid would pop up. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I re-read the date in the title several times.

Props to Suzuki City for helping to bring J-Law back.

on a more serious note - I welcome the kid back, bring it on, a bit more controversy is what we need. I just hope he races and shows what he has now the shit is out of his system.

First of all, I'm not a J-Law hater but I'm not a J-Law fanboy either. Truth is, if he actually comes back and he is able to compete at the top level, then I welcome him because throwing another top rider in the mix will only make it that much more enjoyable to watch for the fans. The real question is can he race at that top level as I believe he expects to do? From the video, he had better keep working and step it up because he didn't appear to be quite as fast as JH100 and unfortunately, that ain't going to be fast enough. But not to take the video out of context, we don't know how hard he was pusing, how hard JH100 was pushing, etc. I will say he looked smooth and comfortable (IMO) and that's a good place to start. Fast guys never seem to lose it for some reason, but fast when he was racing and fast now are 2 different things. Who knows, we could see something special or we could see a flop. I wish J-Law luck and will be pulling for him to be a top guy in the outdoors this year simply because the racing will be better overall.

Now... any guesses what number he gets to run?
