Thats a terrible idea.

Hes the last guy I would want as my manager if I had a ride. He uses head games and intimidation as ways(in an attempt) to get his riders to do better. That is accepted amongst young impresionable riders. Adults call that being a dick.

And save me the "hes just really competetive" stuff. News flash, we're all competitive.

if Coyote, one of the easiest going team managers I knew, could not get along with Lanza, its going to be interesting to see how LB and Lanza do. The state of CA is not big enough for the two of them, let alone one small big rig!

Why does anyone care ? it's not like we are buying something from the Teams.

If the guy's who fund the team want Larry why does anyone here give a shit ?

You certainly can't argue with his results or how he goes all in at what he does.

Isn't T Baker the only Valli rider this year? So Brooks would come in with 1 week before the big break in his series.. then do 3 more SX... Then maybe outdoors. So he'd basically just become a coach for Baker? He couldn't get sposors for Short so I doubt he'd get some for Baker...

Or maybe Valli is bringing in a new rider.... that would be the only reason they would hire Brooks IMO.

I thought Valli was working on an outdoor only deal with Brett Metcalfe?

If at all costs I would not put myself in a position to have Larry as my team manager. He gives the impression of being eternally dissapointed in his riders if they are not wining. As if they are working towards his best interest. Perhaps Andrew Short won Seattle last year despite, not because of Larry being team manager.

Larrys had success, and hes had failures. But I think it could be argued his management style doesnt work for everyone. James, Chad, Tickles dog, Josh Hill and now the roller coaster of sponsership with Andrew.

If you argue Alessi liked him, I would say that Mike has been conditioned to follow an all knowing father figure, and thus LB's management style works for him.

I wish Larry the best. Perhaps a role with Valli Yamaha would be perfect for him and the guys who work with him

Larry would do ANYTHING possible for his riders. Short won his first SX race with Larry, James won his last championship with Larry, Hansen tied Langston for a 250f title. Etc, etc, etc.

For the riders that dislike him? Reed? He got in trouble for breaching a contract and the courts from my understanding agreed. I havn't heard James even say he dislikes Larry. All he's ever said is he himself needed a change. I'm honestly a bit confused on what riders actually dislike him that he's managed?

You seem to be way on the inside pertaining to Larry's management style.

When exactly did you ride for him?

Larry comes off like a douche on tv. But if you dont know him you dont really know what context he was speaking in. Editing is a crazy thing and people can be made to look bad very easily!

Why does anyone care? Can't the same be said for the whole board? You know in other sports fans care who the coach and the gm are, why can they not care in SX/MX?

Fans care, fans have opinions, therfore we have message boards to talk about all this shit that goes on with the sport. Get it? No, nobodys life is really going to change with the hire, but fan can have a thought or two about it. Remember when manning signed with the Donkeys last year, did it cause anyones life to change, no, but the NFL boards blew up about it.

I think people are fine with intelligent opinions and conversation. What people like myself are tired of are conversations like,
Person1: "That guys a douch rocket".
Person2: "Why is he a douch rocket?"
Person1: "I don't know, I'm a fan and can have that opinion and say whatever I want. F-off if you don't like it"

Just try to put some thought behind things.

Not sure if these young bucks know you or yer riding style back in the day. I always wanted to have that style and that smoothness but I didn't quite ever achieve that type of style. But I did have my own style that nobody else had...or even tried to copy. Hehehe...
