I use it because I work out a lot and need the extra protein and calories. The only comparable product would IMO be Syntha -6 from BSN which also has a great taste and a few more calories than regular protein shakes!
I like the fact that Cytosport is in the industry, they promote a healthy product as oposed to all the unhealthy redneck energy drinks they try to sell us.

Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Performance-wise, it's not something a hardcore weight-lifter would use, but I find its a great post-workout/training drink. It's also pretty inexpensive per serving when you buy the large tubs on sale from a GNC/vitamin shoppe type store.
That they support the moto industry is an added bonus.

Do you think it helps your muscles recover well?
I've been trying the chocolate drink. Tastes ok and I'm not blind yet....
All the protein you need is right here.
Without some processed, man-made bullshit. Nature has over 1.5 million years of dietary and digestive refinement research. Beats the hell out of some clown with 25 years in nutrition and 5 years of development. Kinda like how the FDA used to say eggs were so bad and had a direct connection to heart disease. Now, they're considered one of the best foods for ya.
Price sucks though, at $3.99 a bottle its a every now and then kinda thing.
Pit Row
If you want protein, eat more eggs and chicken, real food.
For some people, just having that whey powder raises trigs, bad idea.
Oh, I can take a bunch of fantastic natural cold foods to the gym and nobody cares.
This guy changed to a strict Paleo diet with no artificial supplements. Looks pretty damn good to me.
Back to the subject, Muscle Milk isn't the best source of protein but in a pinch it's better than not eating after a workout.
You are arguing that people "need" protein at the gym, or...?
Another vocabulary word for this thread is "BroScience."
"Hey bro, you need protein immediately after lifting, use what I use bro, this shit works..."
I spent an hr in the gym last evening (5-6 m) and went to bed without eating anything. Didn't eat until this morning. I'm still alive.
BTW, any extra protein you take in (and you probably do if you use that crap), turns to glucose. Glucose causes insulin to increase to adjust blood sugar, and that also kicks in a fat storage mechanism. The more you do it, the worse it gets. That's what "BroScience" does for you.
Ever notice all the fat people at the gym doing that stuff and they wonder why nothing works?
All these complications and crap people add are mostly marketing.
Oh, you might want to think twice about cow milk. One of the reasons it's processed is because the human digestive system struggles so hard to digest it. Also, the calcium you get from milk is acidic based, and when that shit gets into your system, it shuts down the majority of your small intestine's ability to absorb nutrients, including calcium. Plant-based calcium, which is called alkaline based calcium, doesn't do any of that. You can get all of the calcium you need just from plants, and your body will absorb more nutrition because of it. Bet ya' never knew that.
eat your proper real food(breakfast) aprox. 3 hrs before your event.digestion taking place, carb drink types r important during,if longer than 2 hrs, a soy protien drink is ok,not whey or casen. whey n casen better at post not pre or during.dont forget fresh h20 during also.
