Stewart vs Grant

Thanks for the report! Man, to bad we didn't get to see that on TV.

Grant and Reedy have more in common than the fact their kids play together.........

neither will take shit basically ....from anybody...

james (at times ) shows little respect for his peers , " the king of the cross jump ".

If he thinks JG is aggro wait till he tries roughing up Bam bam. will make the season highlight reel.

Dungey screwed up the long rhythm section, and it looked like Stewart took him high, which must have let Short back around Dungey
absolute prick tease. james still has speed . could watch the whole race like that....maybe one day.

I came into the season pulling for Grant and I still am, but anyone who has been watching the races should have notice the little moves he's been pulling on all the riders, not just James. At Anaheim 1 when RV caught him on the outside and was going to go high the in the corner, Grant purposely didn't turn into the corner and forced RV over the berm. Now there was no way RV was going to put the pass on Grant in that corner, so if he had turned in it would not have meant losing the position then and there, but he still probably would have lost it a few turns later, instead he hung on for longer and gave RV no where to go.

Like I said I'm pulling for Grant, but he should mix it up with good clean fast racing, not cheap little tricks that do nothing to further his own speed but are designed to slow others down.

Josh grant was riding well, But it was borderline erratic, When stewart rolled up on him, (stewy was clearly faster at the time) Grants bike got really wide, i mean like dude, your blocking everything and sort of taking dumb lines, (But thats racing for position, so i understand it) Stewart almost got around him in one corner, but grant had a slight wheel infront of him, on the exit of the turn and moved over. So a frustrated stewart passed him fast, and the next turn grant ran it in on him. Grant gets back by, and so down the straight by the mechanics, Stewart pins it left elbow high (old school style) and moves grant out of the way, nicely but aggresively.. so over the finish line, stewart has about a bike length in distance in the air. and grant jumps it angley ( not sure if thats a word lol) And rides across the turn and just pushes stewart off of the track into the toughblocks.

a lap or two, later after the finish line again, stewy has caught back up to grant. grant went inside before the straightaway and james went wide. and blew past him clean. heading into the right hand bowl turn, before the (step on step on, step off) Stewy turned down really sharp, as trying to protect his line and lost the front end. that's pretty much what happend.

That was my observation from v508 and 4 corona bombers in lol.

I like grant as a rider when hes riding like a normal person, but it seems to me when he knows somebody is injured and around him, hes like a shark. Iono if its him or just perception. But its odd, mike alessi, then james... granted a few years apart but still odd.

Anyhoo rubbin is racin!
This would be a good call of what happened.

Looks like only solution for Stewart is to put him on a ground every time he passes him. Stewart made a mistake last year when Weimer was messing with him, he DID NOT pay him back when he had a chance and showed his weakness.

I don't mind aggressive riding. There's nothing wrong with it. Going out of your way to block a faster rider than you for 8th place though is a bit over the top. Stewart is no angel by any means, but Grant has never raced him like this before. It's like all of a sudden Grant sees an opportunity to beat Stewart because of the torn ACL and is going to ride him aggressively for the first time ever in order to get it done. Judging by the play by play from the people that were there, Grant is at fault here. Also, I highly doubt Stewart would be starting anything with anyone with his knee the way it is. I would love to see the GoPro from Stewart for this past race.

Grant knows this is the only time he can stick it to Stewart.

This is the second time he has done that. But that is how Grant is, and has been.

Its racing, I didn't see James grab him by the neck over the whole deal so who cares.

They will settle it on the track.

Dont forget this one, when Grant took out Villopoto.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAsTdRR2oRg
wow, I dont remember that little incident. He didnt want to stop so he blatantly rammed into poto.
Grant and Villopoto was the favorites to take the title in the lites that year so I guess he wanted to eliminate Villopoto to go for the title against Canard who was the rookie.
If Grant doesent turn his career around he will be rememberd as a dirty rider with great ridingstyle and flashes of speed.

It's not that Stewart is a "dirty" rider, it's that throughout his career, he has had little to no regard for other riders safety around him. It's like he thinks he is the only one on the track. (When he jumped on RC, ran out in front of Travis Preston, etc..) He obviously doesn't do that type of stuff on purpose, why would he want to risk injuring himself. But the fact of the matter is, he has always rode like that, and most likely always will. All common sense goes out the window when he is in a racing situation. I do think he has calmed it down this year, but if I were Grant or another one of those guys, I wouldn't want to be around Stewart in a race situation, and I would definitely be fed up with his actions.

Thanks for that perspective. Most of us didnt get to see any of that due to not being there haha. Wish I could have been there, A2 was an exciting and crazy night.

BAM BAM went WAM WAM on his face, we lost a great competitor of 207 starts KW14 and these 2 JG and JS doing the tango all night. I just hope they are over it so Stewie can move his way closer to the points lead and make a run at it later this year.

Like others on here have previously said, even though JS7 overall finish wasnt as good as A1 or phoenix I think he looked way better and wasnt just cruising around, he was going for it.

If Stewart stays in the top 5 he'll never have to worry about Grant. Problem solved.

Never been a Grant fan...I haven't like his attitude from the beginning...but that move on RV (in the video above), then that stunt he pulled on Alessi...now what he's doing with an obviously faster and injured James Stewart...it all just adds up to the fact that he's mentally weak, lacks confidence and is an over all douche.

If I was james you think after getting ran high by Grant, two weeks in a row prior, I would have learned not to put myself in a situation like that. He says it himself, that Grant ran him high for the third week in a row. Can't really see how he thinks that's a defense.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times...? There are no rules against taking anyone high in a corner, and as long as the guy in front has a wheel, it's fair game. Injured or not you still have to play it smart, these guys aren't going to pull over and wave him by, I don't know why he expects that?

You can see the great Grant-Stewart scandal/incident at 2:45 seconds of this Team Chaparral A2 video. At least the tail end of it as James gets lovingly nudged by the 33. Purely a racing deal IMO. Seen worse from both of them in the past, that's for sure.
