Not a big Honda fan, but they are back (Canard, I'm not sure how...wow, I wouldn't have had the balls to sign him!).

If I sold my bike (anyone on here have a dirt or MX bike?), I would replace it with another KTM, more niche selections.

Like all sports, the best are getting younger and younger....they hit the ground running.
I don't follow the NFL (ok, shoot me), but even I know the QB's are coming in young and ready.

I Have a question though, did Kehoe put this all in place, and then Honda fires him not only as manager, but from the organization?

interesting times indeed for big red ,
geico really has stepped up in the 250 class and now 3 bikes of the top 4 in the 450 class are honda. only one bobble from Trey held them back from the red plate for next week !!

question if trey had of got the red plate last night how long has it been since honda was leading both class championships ? ?

I think Barcia or Canard will get the red plate next week, Barcia is 6 Points off and Canard 7 off.

They have been in the Factory Honda womb since being on Geico, which isn't a Kehoe thing. I'm interested to see where Tomac goes next year as I doubt they have the budget for him as well. Maybe this is where Reed "finds" himself a teammate. Cool

As far as I know Kehoe signed both Canard and Barcia for the 2013 season. He could have dumped Canard or signed the 250 outdoor champ Wilson...but he didnt.

Im surprised Honda didnt bring in George Holland to manage the team this year...(some 1988 comedy there for the kids)

"Gotwings" just took his shirt off. Why cheer for a specific manufacturer anyways. I can understand back in the 80's being a Honda guy. Getting a Honda ride was practically cheating but all the bikes are damn good now.

LOL!

Honda is the only one of these participating manufacturers that started as a motorcycle company, and also is the youngest out of the "big 5", so maybe that makes them more passionate. They are such a huge company now that sme focus was lost on motorcycles. I think that has been recognized and adressed.

I have had all brands and my Hondas never nickle dimed me like the other brands. Sticking with them for my last bikes that I feel will be kept to put around with the grand kids some day after I'm done and trust they will still run well.

Started with motorized bikes after selling his piston ring company to Toyota. I have had mostly Hondas since 1974.on the sportbike scene they have fallen behind R&D wise but the bikes still do just about everything well and reliably. I thinkin the 80s the CR range was the gold standard even if some years the kx125 was faster or the 85 cr250 missed with its engine.

The 41 and 51 are the two hungriest riders out there in my opinion. That's a dangerous tool to possess. Barcia showed everyone last night what it's going to be like if they can't get starts with him. He was gone. Scary to think that was his first time ever racing Phoenix. Canard is only going to get better. He still has a few little things he can improve that he will only improve by actually racing. Add in Reed and they clearly are the best brand on the track right now.

If they add Tomac to that team it will be big red all over again. RV will be their number one problem.

Nice post and explanation. I see where you're coming from and you know I was just having a little fun anyways. They will be sweeping podiums with Trey, Barcia, and Tomac.
