"part of their mentality"

Don't you mean "part of our mentality"? Last time I checked, Iceland was a part of Europe.

What are French gun laws like?

I'd rather never get to ride a dirtbike again than having to shoot somebody, but im prob just a french puss'

Coincidence, doubt it.
Beautiful area, Fredericton. Got somewhat lost in the woods over there and almost liked it.

What you say's funny though; i hate to say that cause i really don't like finger pointing and that's a touchy matter over here, but let's say the French community that's specialized in stealing dirtbikes isn't exactly the same that moved to north america 4 century's ago.

Seems to be a common problem in (southern?) France. Factory Husqvarna rider Matti Seistola along with a few other riders got their bikes stolen from the Parc ferme at the French EWC race. That's supposed to be closed and guarded area.
Yes and they had no choice but to cancel day 2 of the event which is sad.

Off-road bike theft is a big problem in the UK. In total I've had 3 bikes (2 KDX 200s & a KTM 250 sx) stolen from my garage. They literally knocked through the wall to get them.

My brother-in-law bought a brand new KTM 525 EXC which was stolen from the forecourt of the KTM dealer (Ron Humphreys Racing) before he had a chance to load it in the truck. He'd only owned it for a few seconds.

The problem is that in the UK bike theft is still treated as misdemeanor.

I used to live in Peterborough and someone on my estate had the exact same thing happen. They knocked his garage wall down in broad daylight slap bang in the middle of a housing estate - unbelievable.

These thieves are often so brazen and open while committing a crime that people don't think to question what they see.

Well, i know u picture France as a Woody allen movie, but take a trip to Marseille's northern neighbourhoods, and u'll see something as gnarly as the bronx, and def more dangerous than Brooklyn worst area's for example. I've toured a bunch of american city's, just went through Oakland in the Greyhound bus so i can't say for there, but i honestly felt way safer walking at nightime in any east coast, south or west coast city's than i did when i got back home. Except maybe for downtown Dallas, at 2am that was scary as shit!

I know it's far from the french cliché, but there's some real shitholes round here, believe me. I tend to think it has something to do with the fact that ur gangs are well organised, the guys are here to make fat stacks dealing and shit, not to bother everybody that crosses their path. In france it's not that organised, it's kind of every block against every block, with a bunch of real young fuckheads that don't care bout nothing and don't receive any orders from the area's boss.

So yeah, we do have gnarly getthos, and yeah, i felt way safer in America than in southern France, despite all the MTV played gangstas myth
Ive been in the worst of Oakland and the worst of Paris.

I'll take Paris. Oakland is fucking nuts.

But we're splitting hairs here.

I've spent a LOT of time in France but I've never actually been to Paris, my housemate is even from Île-de-France!

I was toying with the idea of going to Bercy (as I do every year) until they announced the mx-life deal. Sorry Xavier! Sad

Thieves love easy victims.

I would rather not have to kill someone but I also am glad I have the option to protect my property if need be.

From the sounds of things, some of our British brothers up above would love to be able to use firepower against the rampant bike thieves in their country. It's really pitiful to watch the good guys get overrun by the scum of the earth and not be able to do something about it.

I'd never shoot someone either, but.........................
About two months ago, someone broke into my 2011 van and tried to hotwire it. It has an anti-theft device so he wasn't able to do shit to it, but he threw shit all around and jacked up a few things. Anyways, the dick ran around the neighborhood and ended up stealing one of my neighbors Ford Expedition. He went and picked up his buddies to go joyriding. About an hour later, he rolled the Expedition on the interstate and was ejected and is still in ICU with life threatening injuries. I don't feel bad for him...................Karma's a bitch.

Kind of like the guy who stole my moped (oops, did I just publicly admit to having had a moped) and didn't know the brakes were sketchy.
Him and his passenger (more mass, more speed going downhill) managed to t-bone a car at the bottom of a hill. And I even got to kind of gloat because I got to the accident while walking/hitchhiking home.

Wow...since I'm rather clueless about CP377 but kind of cheer for him, which very few of his countrymen seems to do. What has he done to be so disliked? It can't be over the damaged tire at the MXDN can it?

Do you dislike his brother as well?

I can handle the truth I think regarding the talented but weird CP377. My all time favourite however is Mickael Pichon, so you really produce a lot of exciting riders. What do you think of Frossard 2013? Roman Febvre? Dylan De Ferrandis? Valentin Teillet? Jordi Tixier? Are there even more talented riders in the pipeline behind those?

Vive la France, great with more europeans around here!

The big brother is not a bad dude, the little one is a dirty guy.

I know about Oakland and I know about Marseilles, they both can be very scary if you're in the wrong place. Strange thing to have a pissing match over though?

And for some people someone getting their bikes stolen is still good enough reason to shit on them. Real classy.

Desimone is one of the coolest guy possible, I can't even believe you met him personally.

To introduce all the new frenchies as being "kicked out from MX2K" is not a reference. I think if you do not want to be kicked out from here too, you will need to have a minimum of respect towards the riders. I know Frenchies are world champ' at pessimism, and many are spending their time critizing mostly based on nothing, but if you did not manage to win GPs, SXs, and Nationals, do not be frustrated! It is MX, not football, no need for pom pom girls.

Thanks for the interest towards our riders, it's flattering. I think we're real far from that magic era 'round 2000 that's saw the French invasion. Nowadays, Besides CP and Musquin, I don't see too many riders that could do damages in AMA SX. Maybe Paulin, if he could focus on it. He's a former junior BMX world champ, so he prob could get the skills. Frossard can (and will methinks) be a major contender in MX in the years to come, but im not sure bout SX; he's more of a rattray tha an KDub... The up and coming kids could do decent, Teillet, Ferrandis, but unless one of them raises his game big time, like Musquin did the year he was on Honda, i don't see any of them killing it in the states.

That's why i think it would be a shame for CP to call it a career, he's our best chance for an SX title in the years to come.
About many of us disliking him, i gotta admit it's a blur for me too. Tons of people on our board bash on him day and night, but i've never really figured how come... A lot of people agree to say that he's quite a dick, but i'haven't heard a lot of explicit examples illustrating hs bad behaviour. The only thing might be a few weeks ago when Kyle Bentley explained on the pulpshow that he never got any bonus or tip from Christophe when he was wrenching for him, even though they had agreed on something and he got two sx titiles. But besides that, it's pretty much "he's an ass, believe it an repeat after me".

I think it started with this one poster on mx2k that absolutely hates the guy and bags on CP every chance he gets. This poster happens to be really popular, mainly cause he's funny as it gets, and also cause he's connected 24/7. Year after year, the whole board jumped on the bandwagon, and now, seems like everybody in France as something against CP.

The good thing is that it doesn't looks like Christophe gives a damn; so if he was to retire, wouldn't be our fault. But, as a big fan of him as a rider, i tend to think it's a bit too much, and maybe should we just drop it and forget about him for a bit.

He could be the bggest douch ever, im a fan since he passed me on a massive downhill double, while on his KX80; a jump that just two over guys on 450's were doing that day, and they were the best of the area.
