What is he "back from"?

Id love to see him race in the US. and not because i think he would lose. But because I want the best racers in the best series.
Everts called him a "little bastard". Nice to be called that by your team manager, and arguably one of the finest riders ever to throw a leg over a motorcycle.

The kid is funny at times, and IS fast. I hope he grows into a professional...on the track and off, soon.

If I sponsored that kid and he was throwing out racial slurs like that.... Lets just say that he would need a month to remove my boot from his ass. The universe has a way of taking the cockiness out of the kids that dont appreciate everything that has been given to them. Ala J Law, Stroupe, etc....
Dude he is just what the sport needs. This guy can pull some serious mainstreem audience. We sure as hell dont need another Dungey copy. Thanks to the team, dunlops hookin up great , we just keep pluggin a way, got to give it up to the man above.

Just because someone acts like an arrogant jerkoff doesn't mean he's "good for the sport."

That "good for the sport" bullshit is exactly that- bullshit.

He curses like a sailor and uses racial slurs on twitter. Please explain to me how this professional motocross racer is doing a service to the sport. Imagine for a second if a white professional basketball player or football used the words he did, on any social networking site.

I'm surprised KTM hasn't put a stop to this bullshit.

Couldnt agree more. Who says twitter has to reflect him and his "job." Mabye he wants to be a normal person next to mx like all of us internet heroes. If someone else said "nigga" or acted the way he does on internet noone would give a sh't. Why should it matter if he does, hes just a human being like all of us after all.

I agree the kid is just like you or me...except that he make a LOT OF MONEY AS A PROFESSIONAL MOTOCROSS RACER. You would think that some of his job description requires him to do at least a smidge of "meet & greet" publicity and autograph sessions. With an attitude like Jeffrey has, I can't see many parents admiring him too much as a role model for their children./

Then again, some parents just don't GAF! It's pretty damn obvious that Herlings doesn't either.

People hate J-Law for his antics and what he did, but this toolbag is just as unprofessional and he is getting praised for having a sense of humor? Interesting

Better question, if Hepler & Lawrence made a comeback which one would have an easier time lining up sponsors? Good guys that work hard can find good rides and stick around for a while in this sport while at the same time this sport is littered with guys that had all the talent in the world but flamed out becasue of poor life choices and a lack of respect for the opportunities they were given. You think One Industries would like a do over on their decision back in '09?

He smashed his rental car in Russia and got his ass kicked by his ex-girlfriends dad (or something like that) at one of the GP's. He's also from Holland so that first thing is also a given Wink

They are what they are and nothing can change that. The guys that show or has shown speed always get picked before the good hard woking guys. Always. The teams gamble with those guys because if everyting works out they get podiums.

What I meant is we need bad guys. It fun and interesting. It is something to talk about. WWE RAW.
There is still more threads about J-LAW loong after he retired than many of the top guys today. Fans take interest in how racers act off the track because we sure dont see any personality on the podium. For entertaiment i rather read about 2 racers fighting than RD doing another charity event.

So lets put this into perspective.

People were on James Stewart and him moms side when they were getting called the N word and other racial slurs.

Now, people on here are condoning that and saying its ok because he is speaking his mind???

Stop being such a bitch. I'm sure the incidents with the Stewart's were/are race hate. I'm sure Herlings is just using it with no intention to be racist. Or is he the only cracker in the world using the N word? You really sound like a woman, bro.

That word doesn´t mean anything outside the US, and it is said in a funny context, but please feel free to be affraid of being called a racist unless you don´t hate on a 16 year Dutch kid who´s having a funny twitter-session with a guy.

So you dont see anything different with his tweet? Really? Asperger syndrome?
Rednecks attacking a family at their work place or a duch kid using an ethnical greeting phrase for black people only?

(Im black by the way. so i can write say black)
11/6/2012 2:46pm
Is he really busting out the teenage girl duck face in that pic?!?!?

11/6/2012 2:48pm
In regards to the "N" word thing (and language in general) it's unprofessional but in reality I think we can easily recognise the vain in which he uses it there (i.e a mock ghetto way). We've probably all done that with our own friends or family at some point and never at any moment does it begin to approach genuine racism.. The difference here of course is who he is and twitter.

It IS bad judgement and there's just no getting around that. He should instinctively know a bit better. Doesn't bother me at all but it will some people (especially those fans with a Jeffrey Herlings axe to grind) and I wouldn't be desperately surprised if KTM came back on Jeffrey for another kicking over that one. But there you go.

For entertainment, I'd rather watch RD actually racing against RV, CR, JS etc. than watching some video on Vital of Lawrence riding by himself on some sand track in the woods on Big Foot cam.
