When did the sport get like this? Everyone is stressing that the key players get injured...
Not many years ago the guys were at least able to get through half of the season healthy.

Is it the tracks, or the level of competition, or what?

Struck my eye that everyone is going all "phew, no one got hurt, thank you jesus"...

In my opinion, it's the level of competition along with the four strokes, more specifically the 450.

Saw Stewart putting in some laps at the Suzuki test track on friday, looked like he was doing some serious testing while the rest were at the MEC.

Just a hunch, but my money says James will come out swinging at A1. James knows he's got a lot to prove this year, and just because you don't see him on tv, doesn't mean he's sitting on the couch eatin' donuts waiting for Anaheim.

The best testing you can get is in a race situation. Like I said before, if he wanted to be there, he would be.

It didn't take long for a vitard to appear. Never does. Hey smart guy go ask Blake or K dub if they are glad they showed up here. There is not much to gain by racing here, but there is alot to lose... James is paid to win races/championships not some lame race like the MEC...
He's paid a hell of a lot more to sell product. Probably more exposure in that one race than Dungey had the entire MX season.

The Vitards are the ones that think "It's a Race"...& Racers race Races, right?

O.K., throw me under the bus w/ The Vitards & the rest of you guys can go to the Club & play Golf or whatever.

I'm jus' sayin'...

I would say that the MEC would be a good warm-up for the racers to get into racing shape and to do some testing, while not going all out. But the fact is, that most racers can't just simply take it easy and not push it for the win. So, it's better that James missed this one, cause he can't just ride around without going for the win.

Why the 450? How many of the wrecks have been caused because the bike had too much power/torque?

There have been a lot more serious injuries since the 450 became the bike of choice. Whether or not that's specifically because of the 450 though is impossible to tell.

Would have been great to see him race but I'm sure James has his priorities straight. Get healthy and get dialed in for A1. He's won these one-off events plenty, how many US Opens did he win? I personally think he's gonna kill it on the Zook starting with winning the opener.

This race was built for a guy like James...just look at his 8 lap heat race record..:D

With that said Poto was probably about where James would have been 3-5 tenths faster than the next superhumans...Barcia's gonna take that 450 to his test track, put an ear to Stanton's words and start searching for those 5 tenths.20 lap main @ A1 will be no cake walk for any colored bike Mark em-

I'm confused about the discussion? Seems like a very good race to attend if you are ready for it. Pretty good marketing/exposure value as well, I was thinking it worked pretty damn decent to introduce the new CRF450 (despite no air forks being used on the exposed bikes?).

I was thinking about the new model being exposed as in riders using them, in a higher degree than the previous new model. A sign of something other than good marketing...

Stolen from the BamBam thread...

Just my two pennies but can James ever do anything right?

RV came out was miles faster than everyone then crashed, in a JS7 esque fashion. No one hated on him just hoping he's good for A1. If JS came out and did this then there would be 4 different threads hating and saying he needs to give up and to listen to what Jeff Ward has said about him.

So instead he stays at home and practices and people say he's an idiot for not getting the race practice in.

Guess he can't win in the eyes of his fans....

Numbers to back that statement up about more serious injuries?

^^This. He's even said it himself on PulpMX a few times. No matter what he chooses to do, it's wrong.

Screw them haters. James is one of the best things that happend to the sport.
More people up front means a better show for all of us. I hope he can get solid again, it wil be a blast to watch him go against the top guys.
